  1. Good day, I removed my seats to recover them and unhooked the positive battery cable first thing then without thinking closed my hood all the way down. I have a 2001 boxster base model. I tried taking the small cover off and applying positive to the little clip you pull out and nothing. I am afraid this will not work because the positive cable is off the battery. Any help would be great. Thanks Phil in Ohio.

  2. Good day, I own a 2001 boxster base model which I am in the middle of recovering the seats.I have noticed the backs have heating elements in them with the wire hook ups, the bottoms of the seats do not. That is all as far as anything concerning heated seats. How hard would it be to make the backs operationable? Thanks

  3. Good day, after about a week of listening to a noise get louder I tracked it down to the power steering pulley. Not a very loud noise but for someone who prefers to listen to the engine instead of the radio I knew something was going bad. The pulley has no wabble play at all, instead when you start to spin it feels like there is small a gap at the start of the spin. Hope this makes sense. Please tell me I can pull the hub and replace the bearing and be done with it. Oh ya , not to long ago I had a tiny creek noise coming from the front right when I turned the wheel. Upper Strut bearing needed lubed. Anyhow getting back to the new project, 2001 Boxster with 57000 miles. If I need to replace this should I go rebuilt or new? Where is the best place to give my business ? I plan to do this myself, any help is appreciated.

  4. Good day everyone, I own a 2001 Boxster and noticed a tiny, almost cannot hear ticking sound coming from my steering rack area. This was when I was puttting the car away after a somewhat hard drive. 1/2 hour of stop and go traffic jam then 1/2 hour freeway.Only happens when operating the wheel at a dead still. Fluid level is ok, never happened before. Would flushing out the system and putting new oem fluid help. Or is this the beginning of the end for the steering rack? Car has 56000 miles and everything including the steering is still very tight. Thanks for all the help

  5. Thanks for the reply. When I did the short test to erase irrors, a box came up with everything checking out ok except the section ABS/PSM5.3 It had a red exclamation mark with the words current fault codes, nothing else. No code, #s, or anything. So I went to the section to erase fault code in the abs section and hit the button and a window asking me if I want to do this shows up and I hit yes. Then another box shows up saying, Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately. Index was outside the bounds of the array. I hit continue and a tiny box says please wait. I waited about twenty minutes with no change. I finally shut everything down. Thanks for the help

  6. Good day, I have a 2001 boxster that I am using the Durametric program on. Everything checked out fine except the abs system had a fault red flag come up which I could not remove. This stikes me as odd because the dash light was never on to begin with. The Q&A section at durametric talked about correcting the DME first then the fault can be fixed. Am I on the right path? Should I even worry about this? If so how do I proceed? Thanks

  7. Good day , when I first start out shifting from first to secound is just a little notchy. If I am on a back street not so bad because I can shift much earlier. After the car warms up no problem. I just changed the oil with oem and checked the level twice. One other thing that may be a factor is when I take off out of the garage without giving any gas she wants to tremble just a little bit. You dont notice this if you are taking off giving her a little gas at take off once you hit traffic. Need to go to work but will check back, oh ya 2001 Boxster with 56000 miles. Thanks Phil
