Mine is doing it as well on the drivers side right on the bottom corner, was considering replacing.

That's kinda what I thought too the ball pin, retaining spring clamp, pivot bushing and release lever were all changed about 2000k miles ago. but not the spring.

Just as future reference, you don't need to remove the bumper and I was able to remove mine in about 25 mins both sides only jacking up one side of the car, totally easy job .
