Old thread.  Are people still using the Cayenne front rotors as PCCB replacements?  What year Cayenne S?

Took a guess on a voltage problem. The battery was only 12.2V so I had it charged and tested. The car seems fine now but I know the car didn't fix itself.

Are the alternators a common issue on these cars? I drove the car but the battery voltage is dropping ever so slightly each time.

What is the correct alternator part number for a 2004? I think it is 99760301206

The dash also indicates "Failure indicator" with a picture of an engine in front of it at start up.

Guess, I will be buying a Durametric today...

Just ran my generic OBDII scanner and it wouldn't pull any codes. Wondering if that means its a Porsche specific code?

I have a 2004 996 GT3 with 63K miles. There are no modifications other than a cat back exhaust.

This morning the check engine light came on at start up. Everything seemed fine; however, the tach wasn't working and the high temp light and low gas light were on.

I have a generic OBDII code reader which I will use when I take the car home at lunch.

I'm guessing this isn't the first car to have this issue and was hoping someone could shed some light on this issue which seems pretty specific with the tach and lights on but this is my first check engine light in owning the car for a year now.

Got it done last night. Pretty easy once you figure out how to get your hands around the triptronic to that hose on the side. I had the special pliars for the bottom hose clamp and got that one from the top. Unfortuantely I broke the hose on the very top when unhooking it. Brittle as heck. Going to the dealer to hopefully finish this up today.

Super thanks. Guessing I can only clean the ends of the hoses and not much else. I'm also thinking about taking the MAF off and spraying it with the Crc maf cleaner. Any other ideas?

It looks like my rads have never been cleaned. I was able to remove the loose dirt, leaves and stuff but I have caked on mud clogging the bottom of both rads. What's the safest way to clean this mud out? I'm thinking the water hose on low pressure. Better ideas?

Loren, thank you for your help. Over the holiday I called a local shop that installs many roll cages. The bracket that i was trying to remove has 4 clips with two on each side of the adjuster button. You need to take a thin flat screwdriver and pry each one up without letting the other side snap back in. Once I got this braket off I was able to replace the seatbelt quickly.

Yes. Up and down. The bolt in the belt bracket is always covered by the bracket in the picture. The factory manual pictures that you have attached (thank you!!) are after this bracket has been removed. If this bracket was removed the slider mechanism would be left and I could get at the bolt that would release the seat belt.

Go as wide as your space allows. Also, get the 996 ebay aluminum pucks for lifting the car. Work perfect and clear the body.

The thing is you can't get to #5 with the bracket pictured.

Yes, once the bolt is out slide it up and lift out.

Right but that metal bracket blocks the access to the bolt. There are no bolts visiable with the bracket in place. Thanks again for your help. I have a feeling once this is off I will be done in no time.

Can you explain further? Does it come off? The bracket moves with the belt as it goes up and down with the belt. I'm missing something simple here I'm guessing... I very much appreciate the response. I'm pretty frustrated...

Working on a 996 GT3 for a seat belt swap and I've run into trouble. How do I remove this bracket? Thanks in advance.

Just to confirm, the ATE's are for the 6 piston former PCCB set up?

bumping a really old thread. I have a 2004 GT3 and would like to upgrade the suspension with the PMNA parts. Where can I find a copy of the parts catalog?
