I have the AWE x-pipes on my 2010 Targa 4S with PSE, great sound both with PSE on and off.

Ah, sorry, my bad. Did I read somwhere that a software update could solve this or maybe I am mixing something..?

Hi there, I have a 2010 Targa 4S, german car with the BT module. It interfaces just fine with my iPhone. The car works like a handsfree and also tranfers the phonebook. But I cannot play music from my iPhone through BT. If you want music also you have to have the Multimedia Interface.

Just another observation in this matter. After trying out Sport-mode and normal mode in normal traffic I find sport mode more to lug, especially when downshifting to first gear using "Drive". I therefore prefer to use Sport mode only when I want to change manually in normal traffic.

Not likely it will only run when the engine compartment is too hot - per DME control.
The fan on my car only runs after many laps at the track and I come off to the pit area. In normal driving I don't recall it ever turning on.
Similar for my 2010 Targa 4S

Difficult to say what is normal without driving your car but I am almost sure you just own a PDK for the first time. I got my 2010 Targa 4S (first) PDK in january and I have been through the same.
Sometimes it feels a bit jerky and awkward, but I think we are just setting the bar too high.
The PDK is an extremly advanced mechanical two-clutch gearbox, the irratic throttleuse us humans sometimes are guilty of is impossible to write software that will foresee.
And with 385hp it is to much to demand a vibrationfree function in all instances.
I have experienced relatively violent jolts and "misfunctions" sometimes but I dont think it is abnormal. The box is rock solid. I laugh sometimes about myself worrying about this, after using Launch Control to kill a Corvette... The more torture I put on the car the smoother the PDK works...

My former C4S 2003 had the same, loose heatshield. P-shop fixed it every 6 month when serviced but the rattle came back... My 2010 Targa 4S doesn't rattle at all ;-)

Yep, frequency artifact ;-) The leds are actually blinking all the time. Just like 110v ac lights at 60 Hz ;-)

My 996 C4S 2003 was a hound for power. It went off remote key function after three days, as from the manual, to save power. Stressful stuff when you are on the airport, trigging the alarm etc. struggling to get in.
My 2010 Targa 4S has nothing like this. Fresh and sharp after a fourthnight alone. Something is very strange with the electrics in the 996 series.

Extremely worth the extra bucks!
Snow chains for my Carrera GTS

Why dont you go for "socks"? Porsche have them, I would not go for chains in a million years... I live in Norway, of course I have dubbed wintertires so I dont need it but socks seem to be a "kinder" solution with still good traction.
