  1. No other toll that I am aware of except for a PIWIS tester.

Even then Porsche requires special codes (IPAS) on a per car basis to change some things or add some options.

What specifically do you want to change?

I am not about entering codes from ipas to activate some additional features, I just would like to have similar PIWIS menu to change country coding in PCM2.0/2.1 for example.

  2. What do you want to change ? Without a PIWIS you can't anyhow.

No, for example VAG-COM allow connect via K-line and change coding of instrument cluster, as Belt gong on/off, C/F degrees, Ml/Km etc, but codings looks like a figure 00993884, change one sighn will change coding, but not so clear what exactly you change - You should be experienced in this procedure. Meantime this programm usually no connect to PCM via CAN and not allow change codings there (add or remove equipment? country settings, etc.)

PS Everybody should check connector pinout before try))

  3. Hi!

    > Side Skirts jsut double face tape on?

No, you should install metal fixing strip under car and attach skirt with plastic pistons

Front Spoiler easy to install? Yes, just remove original and attach new one, same with rear, square pipes should be replaced on sport double oval.

Rear roof spoiler easy to replace, just need to add two protective films on d pillars.

    >etc etc

    Regards,

    Alex.

  4. Unless someone has a third party unit , I would trade your car in for one that has it, it will cost you as much to have it fitted and wired. The Cayenne has VIN specific wiring (to save weight ..sic) so a major comfort control unit, wiring and dealer PIWIS programming will be required.

    I am guessing $3k minimum

My V6 has that option.. Came as part of the "comfort Pack" option

3K...Lovely...Anyone know of a aftermarket fix?

    I know)

    3,200

    )))))

I'll try to replace original switch, will report later.

    Alex.

  5. Hello,

I am looking to replace a stock Becker unit on My 05 Cayenne with Pioneer with nav ,any issues I should expect? I was looking for adaptors but where is no any, maybe VW adaptor work? Thank you in advance.

    Mike.

HI ! What kind of adapter you looking for? face plate (never seen) or electrical can adapter for wiring (suggest you try one for latest audi)? Do you have amplifier installed in you car, do you like one din folding screen on double din size?

    regards.

    Alex.

  6. Only the side trim must be removed, replacement rear pillars = approx. 2.00 h. of labour for a experienced person.

Dealer will ask at leas 2,5 hours for rem\reinstall rear glasws only.

Really you do not need remove all windows, C pillar trims fixed on double side tape on surface and two plastic clamps on front edge. From my practice I know no possible to install new part as strong as original one installed, we allways add some glue to adhesive tape.

If you have one glass removed to see inside - you can see how to carefully remove original part and glue new one with pu sealant witout any works on interior trims.

    regards.

    Alex

  8. especially if the dealer installs.

I'll be sure to post results(and any other Qs I'll likely have along the way).

Installing and programming full kit should cost about 7,5 hours, but will take full day, may be more.

Not to expencive, and you need reprogramm some units after install. Some wirings should be modified, some connectors should be attached to cpecial housings, etc. Reccomend make installation in official workshop.

  9. OK, just so I have this straight, the PCM 2.1 Retrofit kit will fit in any Cayenne since the "optical waveguide" (I'm assuming that this is the fibre optic cable) must be ordered and installed with the kit? This cable type runs only from the DVD drive to the head unit?

Yes, correct, you can install PCM2.1 Retrofit Kit in any Cayenne. You should add optical lines to DVD-rom unit under front passenger seat, this is very important to get correct cabels with same pins (old and new style pins on ends of optical links present) and all links with terminals to connect devices in the ring, if you have amp, etc. OR just two cabels from PCM to Navi if you do not have any optical cabel in car.

    Regards.

AS I REMEMBER KIT INCLUDE ONE OPTICAL LINK AND CONNECTOR HOUSING, check @ shop before ordering.
