  1. Is the 4 stalk switch with the number 996.613.219.00EAK the same as the newer part with the number 996.613.219.10EWC?

Is the older version compatible with that required for a 2004 Boxster S if not will it go into a 2000 996 C2?

I know there are many posts for the retrofit but for the 2000 996 C2 which has cruise as standard and assuming the OBC is enabled. Do you still have to run the power and ground to the switch or is it a much simpler retrofit?

Hi Nick, I used 996.613.219.10EWC on my 03 Boxster S so I can't really comment on that but I can confirm you have to run power and ground, both are easy though. The power can come from a wire tab behind the fuse box and for the ground there is a convenient screw behind the cluster that is often used for OBC anyway.

    Chris.

Thanks for the update on the Boxster information. However, on the 996 with cruise is there an existing power feed to the 3 stalk switch that can be utilised? (Got rid of wifes TT roadster, she now has the 996)

  3. Hi there, Thanks for having such an informative forum. I just purchased a black 2004 911 (996) C4S and I love this car! The most amazing ride I have ever driven.

That being said, I need some help. The car did not come with a navigation manual, it is a stock navi system with bose speakers. Is there a downloadable version in the forum (I couldn't find one). Or will I have to order it from the dealer? Any insight, please let me know.

    Thanks!

The manual you are after is available to from the drop down list above under the Porsche Owners Manuals. Slect this then the Becker/Porsche Manual. The PCM manual is listed here.

  4. C2 should have a spare tire which has an opening for the windstop. C4 has a separate windstop bag.

I am aware that the C2 bag clips onto/over the spare wheel.

I am picking up a wind stop 2nd hand but no bag....so if you know the part number.....

  5. I was comparing the opening sequencing of the cabrio top on my Boxster against that of my wifes 996 cab and noticed something very different.....

When you unlock the latch on the Boxster the windows drop about 6 inches to allow the top to open, but stay this way when the top is fully open.

On my wifes 996 cab, the windows drop in a similar way when you use the switch to open the top. However on the 996 when the top is fully open the windows return to the closed position. Much more useful I hear you say.

So why the difference or is this a fault on my Boxster ???

  6. A follow-up question, can the individual pieces of the surround be replaced by the single horseshoe as fitted to the later models?
No, I don't think so. The center vent shape is different on the MY02 and newer cars.

But if you want to try I can get you the parts lists...

I may try this as we also have a Boxster (assuming the parts ar the same) that we can swap the parts from to at least see if this is feasible. I will let you know how we get on.

  7. 996.552.233.04.A03 Left trim -- MSRP $29.42 (as of Oct 2006)

996.552.234.04.A03 Right trim -- MSRP $29.42 (as of Oct 2006)

996.552.131.04.A03 Support frame -- MSRP $114.35 (as of Oct 2006)

    Thanks for the number.
