Hi All!
I've read through the forums and wanted to get a little confirmation before I order parts. When I unlatch the top to put it down, the windows do not drop their normal few centimeters. Here's what does work and what I've checked:
1) Both windows drop when I open their respective door.
2) I checked the fuses for the windows and all are good.
3) I pulled out the top latch microswitch and it was corroded a little on the two metal dots behind the clicking part of the switch, but still doesn't work.
4) I can't swap the top relay out because I don't know anyone else with a Boxster.
I'm thinking the microswitch needs to be replaced. Are there any other tests I can do to confirm it or should I just go ahead and order the switch?
TIA!
Bridge the microswitch with a wire to prove this.
Also do the windows return to the up position when you re-latch the roof (ie drop them manually, then open roof, close roof and then re-latch), if the windows do not raise the microswitch is the problem for sure.

but would be good if you can just order the rear 'pop up' one

I have noticed on several occasions that my keys fail to operate the central locking.
Further to that the light on the key stays on.
The only way to solve this is to take the key apart and remove the battery for 5 minutes then re-assemble it.
I have also tried new batteries.....
Any clues on this one?
Has anyone else suffered this too?
The only thing I can think of is static discharge affecting the remote.....

On the all cars the cars I have tried it on - you do it as follows:
Press and hold the recirculation button. Then press the temperature up ("+") button to switch between degrees Celsius & Fahrenheit on the Climate Control Temperature and Instrument Panel Outside Temperature displays.
Note: There are two + keys make sure you press the one under the temperature readout - while holding the recirculate button down.
If that does not work then perhaps something changed in MY04 and you may need a PST2 - if that is the case where are you located (since I have a PST2)?
I have tried the method you suggested on several occasions.
I have not tried the PST2.
I am on the East Coast near Greenwich, some way away from the SF area.

I having tried on various message boards (with no sucess) to find out if it is possible to switch between degrees F and degrees C.
I have had many people suggest the temp re-circ and the + key but this doesn't work on a 2004 Boxster S.
Is it possible to do this using the PST2, if so what is the method?

Yes.
....and the part number is???????

Is there a part number for just the half of the key with the rubber switches in it as these seem to wear out or split over time and not the whole key?
-
I have read in instructions manual there is a bag to keep windshield in winter,
part number? any pic?
Best regards.
There is a bag you may find it (as I did) hidden in the pocket in the front of the spare wheel cover.

I have done it on 2 local 2003s, and others have done it as well. Nothing changed for 2004.
Having managed to get the OPC to enable the OBC is it possible to get them to and the stalks if so is there a TSB or Worksheet for them to do this and how much is it likely to cost?
-
I have a 2004 USA Boxster S and I am wondering if it is possible to carry out the OBC upgrade on a 2004 model?
If so is it still possible to enable the OBC at the dealer on this model?

Sports Exhaust
in 986 Series Part Number Requests
Posted · Edited by Nick_USA
Is the sports exhaust system, the wiring harness and switch still available for a 2004 (LHD) Boxster S?
If so what are:
1. The Part Numbers?
2. The cost of the parts?
3. The cost of fitting?
