Excellent instruction from Loren as always.
I just want to add two things:
1. Try not to drop the drain screw in a disposal container, it blocked the hole of the container and I had to deal with some mess.
2. I had to let the oil drain overnight, since thin stream never ended. It may/maynot matter, but I heard that amounts to 1 grt.

PY21W is technically the same as 7507. I believe that 7506 is the same shaft, but different barb locations. To fit the PY21W in the front turn signals you have to grind off the barbs - that's what I did.
Thanks Henry.
Now everything is clear to me, but for the record,
the pic below shows what Henry's talking about:

After amber removal instruction from Henry(thanks), I found some info about bulbs for Boxster; (Silvervision or silverstart, which is silver when it's off & turns amber when on)
Front turn signal: 7506
Rear turn signal: 7507A
Question:
From the internet, only silvervision turn signal bulbs I can find is PY21W(doesn't say 7506 or 7507). Is it the right one? Education please!~

I did exactly what Tool Pants said, but one word of caution;
Masking is not very straight forward since it's circular. Keep the spray off the clear plastic lense, it's very hard to clean up.
BTW, I prefer chrome ring as in 550SE...
Anyone knows where I can purchase it other than stealer?

They came with the door panels I purchased from ebay, so I don't know the part number. I think you can use the part number request forum or call Sunset and ask. They are very friendly.

Thanks! Great tips as always. :notworthy:
Now I removed them successfully and they will be painted in silver to match other silver trims. I will post a pic when it's done.

That's definately DIY, but I have different opinion.
Contrary to what I read before, I didn't experience any noticable improvement.
I sugguest you to listen to someone else's first.
I also heard it makes noticable difference only if you connect directly to 996's 6X4Amp(most people connect to radio unit).

Non sense. One of my friend replaced the rear window for $400 and turned out to be great. The problem is they have to remove the whole top to replace the window anyway. You have to make sure if they have experience with Porsche though.

I just replaced the silver handle. You need to remove the whole panel for sure. Sorry for the bummer, but it's very easy to do though.

Anybody experienced this? Is it DIY fix or for stealer?

Get Klasse.
Best quality, easier to apply, and last longer than any other product I've ever used. Your Porsche deserves no less.

Posted
I am confused with 2 different part numbers for 3 spoke tiptronic steering wheel.
996.347.983.29 A28 + color code
996.347.804.64 A28 + color code
What's the difference? Anyone? :help:
