  1. Hi,

according the the car wiring schematics, the PCB1 has an unused RGB input with all the connections available (RGB plus SYNC) and what it seems an enable pin (RGB ON in the schematics).

has anyone tried to connect anything to these pins and be able to display anything on the screen? I'd be interested on the functinality of the RGB_ON pin as well (ground to activate?).

If it is implemented inside the PCM1 I am thinking of using this unused input for a backup camera for example.

    cheers!

  2. Hi,

few days ago I decided to fix the foam flaking over the car ventilation and the lack of hot air by accessing the air mixing flap through the heater core.

To my surprise it seems not possible to remove the heater core easily in the C4 because an aircon pipe crosses over it (see attachment). I'd would guess that I'd need to remove the offending pipe and the recharge the aircon but it would be great if anyone with the same experience has some input about it.

    thanks!

  3. Hi,

has anybody tried rear 10x18" wheels with ET50 in a narrow body C4?

I got a 2001 996 C4 cabrio and I am considering changing the "boring" stock 17" with BBS LMs. The rears come in two different offsets, 10x18ET50 and 10x18ET65. ET50s would look more aggressive but not sure if they fit at all. As far as I know recommended is ET65 for a 10x18 wheel.

    Tyre will be a 265/35/18

    thanks a lot

  4. Hi,

I have some scuffs in the interior plastic parts and was wondering if anyone knows of some paint I could be using to touch them up. It is a 996 C4 convertible in savannah leather in Hong Kong. Porsche doesn't seem to sell any but perhaps some enamel paint for models or anything else could do. Obviously colour match should be perfect, otherwise it'll look even worse than the original scratches...

I've seen this post from many years ago but seems no solution either  http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic/474-savannah-beige-touch-up-paint/

    thanks!

  5. Hi, no answer yet... If I am in the mood I may disassemble the cassette player and try to find where I can inject the external audio (I am electronic engineer) keeping everything else working.

As for the CD player you can insert audio through the plug C3 behind the PCM1. It is the blue one on the top right when looking the PCM from the back. Connections are:

    pin 19: Audio Left

    pin 20: Audio Right

    pin 18: Ground

You'll need to keep a CD in the player.
