  1. I have a warning light on. Its 2nd in from left 996 2001, Think its brake pad wrning. It had new pads & discs fitted when i bought car many years ago. The light was on then, Never bothered me. Now its MOT time & new uk rules. No warning lights or a fail, Do i need to get the light reset or is there a problem. All pad wear sensors ok & car has only done 21,000mls. Any help appreciated.

  2. Wow how wierd is that. I just received my key blade this morning from them, They are good & they clone a lot of chipped keys from motorcycles/scooters for me, which is my busness doing cat D/C write offs that rarely come with both keys.

I asked them & they can do the porsche key code job, but they are in Kent & need the car to read codes. I,m in Leeds so its a long drive.

  3. Hi thanks for that but can you be more specific, I.E is the key immobiliser part a different job to the door locking mechanism. In the key fob there is a little metal tube which i guess is the immobiliser chip. Then there is the rest of the remote door opening circuit board. Are they all limnked or is there 2 seperate functions. Sorry if i appear thick on this subject.

  4. Thanks for answers. I buy & sell cat C & cat D insurance write off bikes & scooters, most of which come with either just 1 key or no keys at all. The latter being i have usually to purchase a new ecu, eg Vespa GTS 300. New throttle body ECU assembly best side of £400 + new key set & then code manually. On the other hand when i get just 1 key there is a company in the UK you send them to & they clone your key & return it registered post. I take it this is not the case with the porsche system. Sorry to appear a bit dum but i have not had my 996 out of the garage for 3 years. And not been off the driveway for 4 years. Sad i know but work & other stuff,,,

  5. This has probably been asked many times, but i have owned my 996 for many years & covered about 1500 miles. Its wrapped up in cosy blankets the rest of the time. Anyway when i purchased the car i only got 1 key. Never bothered me but i am planning on selling it soon & wondered how to get a spare key & fob. From what i have read you can buy the bits but cannot get it programmed without a bank loan through porsche. Any help appreciated.

  6. Richard hamilton. My photo,s of mods. Seems like everyone fancy,s doing this mod. Heres a few more pics. The cost is about £30.00 English & a mate with a tig welder. The sound is very good as richard will tell you we both did this mod, The thing with the PSE system is you never turn it off so why pay the bucks. Other thing is you never bother to turn the radio on anymore the sound of the exhaust is all you want to hear. A pic of the finished article with the cut down turbo bumper & turbo tails

  7. You sure its not you being tensed up when redlining as opposed to having more feedback when you drive steady. Just an observation that i have noted when i am driving steady as opposed to giving it some. Like my gearchanges steady perfect, fast & i struggle with 3rd. Cured myself now by being less tense while giving it some. Probably a load of rubbish but thats how i see it.
