  1. My 00 S @ 130487mi starts to have some issuses, nothing big i hope!

The ticking sound comes from the driver side footwell, and from what i have been able to find it could be a solanoid to the climate control?

If i change the temp or the vents it stays the same, intermittent clicking.

I have also read somehwere that it could be a vacumline to ventilation damper?

The next issue, Its from the rear passanger side.

It started with a faint squeaky sound going over bumps or pressing the rear down by hand.

But now i can hear that something is wrong when driving in lower (1-2 gear) speeds and it doesent have to be a bumby road for me to hear it.

Its like a faint rumble and the aqueaky sound have gotten worse.

If i go under the car and have someone pressing the rear down i can fell that the squeaky sounds makes vibration in part nr 8 in the pic below.

    501-00.jpg

All the nuts feel tight and from what i can tell nothing is loose.

The rumbeling sound disapears if i give small amount of gas or if i go upphill in lower speeds, if i let go from the gas it starts.

I hope someone can help me with this, and im from Sweden so my spelling aint the best, Sry!

  2. Well i still cant locate exactly where the rattle is coming from. Since its only happends when the top is dry my first thougt was rhe tension cables. But its also happends when i have the hardtop mounted.

Could be in door to but i havent opend up the door yet.

    Anyway i saw this drawwing.

    http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/originalparts/usa/986_USA_KATALOG.pdf

    Main group 8 -> chapter 812

Part nr 17 is a tension cable, where the heck is that located? Is it the tension cables for the top or some other cables?

The drawing is for a 2004 car mine is a 2000.

    regards

    /Johan

  3. A bit late mayby, but if your gonna do Pse 2.0 go from chamber nr 2 instead from chamber nr1.

The original Pse goes from nr 2 :)

My project stopped for various reasons, mayby this year :)

  4. yep, thats the plan atleast

Im just in love how the original PSE sounds and first the muffler bypass was on my mind.

But why not go all the way, including remote operation?

In my mind the electric vents are useless but they are realy easy to find. And the effort to build a DIY PSE should be on the lighter side.

The vacuum ones on the other hand, they are not what i would call cheap and hard to find

I have tracked down one supplier for the electronic for the vacuum actuator, http://www.carnewal.com/products/P57/p091/Installation-Set-for-Switchable-Exhaust-via-Remote

Now to my question, does anybody know if the actuator is open or closed under free condition?

    actuators

  5. Hi Maurice,

The door carpet itself is dry, but where the carpet meets the door seems a bit moist but thats nothing to compared to other places.

I have tried to find the way water comes in and it seems to be some where around this area.

    21j3ktz.jpg

The area behind the roll cage is also wet.

If i pry paper inderneath the drip pan its dry but 2 inches below and under the isolation its wet.

And i can spray the car with a garden hose or wash with a high-pressure sprayer without any leak.

With the soft top up the windows align the same on both sides, but (!) now with HT it seems that on the passenger side the HT should be a bit forward.

The seal on the car doesent meet the HT (i will post more pics later today) but with the soft top it looks ok.

Last year the HT had a perfect fit :/

Is it hard to remove panel on the door?

    *edit*

    Regarding the rattle,

Its only the last month or so that i have heard it and i was suprised to hear that when the car is wet its gone.

I adjusted the tension Cables a bit but it didnt help.

    Thanks!!

  6. First the facts,

I have a problem with water coming in on the passenger side But only while driving in the rain!!

And its the same with the hardtop mounted, i got water on the passanger floor.

    But theres more,

I also have a rattlling noise, like a loose washer coming from the passengers side.

Its realy hard to locate where its from but somewhere around the top assembly.

And its the same with the hardtop.

And now to the twist, when i drive in the rain, the rattle is gone?! (softtop/hardtop)

My drains are clean and i can poor buckets off water in the pans and theres nothing on the floor.

The soft top doesent align with the window frame 100% when the top is fully up (before locking it) there´s a bigger gap on the passenger side then on the driver side. ½ inch or so.

The rattling sound only occurs around 3000 rpm.

I will post pics tomorrow and some moore info...

    *edit*

    Bad spelling..
