  1. I can save you a great deal of time as I spent hours upon hours researching this. The Bootlid/ wing on a 996 Turbo coupe will also fit a 996 Turbo Cab and a 996 C4S Cab only. No narrow bodied coupes nor the C4S coupe can accept the Turob bootlid/ wing as the opening is far to small from the rear bumper to the upper valance panel (top boot on cabs). Hope this helps

  2. Just switched over to OEM turbo front bumper on my 2002 996 cab. Relatively simple if you get the correct front inner wheel well liners for a C4S plus the center underbody panel that attaches the unibody to the front bumper. You will also need to remove about 3 1/2 inches at each end of the aluminum inner bumper strip that attaches to the car so it will clear the air inlets on the turbo bumber. As noted before the headlights are different for pre-02 cars and you will need turbo/ '02 or newer headlights...not sure on the fenders being different. There is a great post here on step by step instructions on installing one of these bumpers. I strongly suggest getting the correct front inner fender liners and the center filler panel instead of trying to use the ones you already have as they really don't line up very well (I ended up getting the new ones)

    Hope this helps

  3. I have been looking into getting a 02+ GT3 stile aftermarket spoiler for ma 99 C4. I figured out all the expensive options - original Porsche GT3 lid and spoiler, misha's, and all the other 2K to 4K options out there. A friend told me that there is a shop in California that makes a fiberglas GT3 wing which fits in the stock deck lid for about $700. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, any advise on upgrading my wing will be appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

  4. I have recently purchased a black 1999 Carrera. The paint is in great shape except on the bumpers, front and rear, which have water spots. Any suggestions on removing the water stains?

Try using white vinegar and a clean soft towel. This works great for both acid rain and/or water spots. Often black paint will "burn" in the calcium in water spots. This works great and virtually effortless and will not hurt the paint.

  5. I also have this problem. This is my 9th 911 and fully aware of the normal startup smoke that 911's can bless us all with. My 02 996 cab literally bellows white/ grayish smoke at startup when it is colder than 55 degrees outside and I parked the car "hot" after driving aggressively with high RPM downshifts. It smokes so bad that you literally cannot see across my driveway when you first fire it up. Local Porsche dealer suggested lower test fuel during the colder months which has made it better but by no means solved my problem. I do not get this all the time but it is extremely excessive. Local Porsche dealer hooked up computer and there are no fault codes being produced. Anyone have any ideas of what to do?
