Just an update...
As of now, I have had no codes nor pending codes for a long time, and normally would have had a code by now. My problem is likely fixed and if it's not, I'd bet any future misfires would be due to carbon build up in my cylinders.
The following is all I have done:
1) MAF sensor. I changed this because I read that over-revs can cause it to go bad without a fault code. I got a good deal on Amazon for the exact Bosch part.
2) Fuel Cap. It was clearly old and the o-ring was extremely cracked and dried out.
3) New (and correct) plugs that were gapped at a more appropriate range. The plugs that were in there were Beru 5's and I replaced them with the 6 range in the plugs mentioned above.
I've done my best to open up the throttle to clean out the crap, but I have only had one longer drive, so not a whole lot of opportunity to do so other than a few midday ownership of the fwy...
I'll post again if there is any future change.
Thanks for all the input!
Replaced the Coils and Sparkplugs also resolved my misfires during a cold start-up. Thanks to this thread it helped resolve my problem.

I bought a set of 6 coils oem from Napa Auto Parts for $160.00 and the sparkplugs for $57.85 from a local Ebay auto parts. There is a great DIY on replacing the sparkplugs and coils for a Cayenne Turbo I believe but I have the base model. It would be great if I would have known that all you had to do is remove the top plastic cover from the engine and easily replace the coils and sparkplugs instead I followed the first steps of the DIY and removed ALL of plastic parts around the engine and also bought a Triple Square socket set when its not needed. Anyway the car no longer misfires during a cold start, feels great and runs great.

If you put the car on a Durametric, or Porsche PIWIS tester it will likely tell you exactly which sensors (if any) are bad.
Really worth your time instead of buying parts and guessing - IMHO.
I don't have either tester but would def. go that route if I did.

Hey All,
I am having trouble reading the correct part number for my 06 Cayenne Base Model. I'm sure there are different part numbers due to some models having air levelling suspension and so on. I on and off get a check levelling error but no error codes or error will stay on. I will be checking all the headlight cables but if that doesn't fix it I am lead to believe that it must be a sensor from other threads I've read. I don't think my model has the air bag suspension. Can someone please answer the following:
1) How many sensors would I need to replace?
2) What are the part numbers to the Headlight Self-Levelling Sensors?

I'm curious to know what you find to be the problem. I am having the same issue with my 06 Cayenne. It slightly misfires about 10 to 20 times during cold start only. Once it warms up, it's perfectly fine and runs fine. My first thing to do is change the coils and spark plugs.
