  1. It is the button you push down on to move the shifter. Took two guys (including a Porsche factory trained tech) at the shop to remove mine.
  2. Got it. Thanks. Excuse me for being dense but as per those instructions, what exactly is the locking button, the white clip just underneath the botton lip of the silver tip button? How far up into the button is it? Just feels like it's going to break if I try and lever it off.
  3. Loren, Thanks. I am new to this site (which contains an amazing amount of info) and am noticing that the search capabilities are not very good and often do not locate what you're searching for even though the info may be there. if you search for "Remove tiptronic shift knob", the post that you referred me to does not come up in the results. Don't mean to gripe just want to point it out in case tweaks can be done to the search engine.
  4. Does anyone know if the wiring connections for the multi-function steering wheel are present even if a standard 3-spoke wheel was installed at the factory? I am interested in doing the switch myself but unsure if the multi-function requires additional wiring to be done. Thanks for any help.
  5. I've been reading through the posts on the Sport Exhaust and though Porsche claims no added performance from the PSE, has anyone actually dyno'd before and after an install? If so, is there any notable increase in WHP? I'm considering installing this exhaust but am having a hard time justifying $16-1900 just for mufflers with a bypass valve and a change in sound. Any benefits to the PSE over AWE or Gemballa Powerkit besides maintaining Porsche Parts and sound? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
  6. >>>I can't give you any advice on AWE's products but I can tell you that they really do lot's of research and developments. I am a member of the PCA Riesentoter region so as Todd from AWE. I always see Todd testing new products on the track. They also have a dyno at their shop. I personally have a lot of confidence in AWE's product even though I don't have any of them because I can't afford them. If I got the money to do mods, AWE's products will be my first choice.<<< Thanks Kam. Jeff Moss at Torque Factory out here pretty much said the same thing. I'm kind of torn between the AWE system and the Gemballa Powerkit exhaust (the sound is killer but I can't seem to find any pricing info for it which would be helpful). that +39 at the wheels AWE is claiming is on the 997S only. They were talking 20-25 with the 997 but haven't released that system yet since they are working on tips for it (at least that's what I was told).
  7. I am considering getting the AWE Tuning Exhaust System (headers/mufflers/tips only) on my 06 997 C4 Tip. Has anyone installed one of their exhausts? After talking with Garret Lim at GIAC, he mentioned this is what he has on his TT and that it's very close to stock in idle and partial load but all business with the throttle open. A little bit on the $$$ side and I want to find out if it's worth the extra cash. They claim +39 crank hp, +31 crank tq with full system (incl cats) on the 997S. Would love to hear any experiences people have had with these systems. Their site: http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/porsche/index.cfm video/sound files/images/dynos on site.
  8. Warranty for what? The dealer may not warranty your MAF with the new intake (although mine did), but it does not blanket void the warranty. With the ECU flash (you can get one that is able to be set back to stock and is virtually undetectable by the dealer) and intake...(and exhaust)...you will definately notice an increase in performance. thanks for the info.
  9. Did this void your warranty? Is there a significant, noticeable performance increase?
  10. Does anyone have any experience or information on an after purchase install of the 997 044 800 38 Carbon kit (Wheel, Shifter, Parking Brake Handle)? Specifically on a 2006 C4 Tiptronic (US). Any help or arrows pointing the way is appreciated.
