Hi loren
thanks for replying, I read that of this forum earlier and the light doesn't come on even that way that's why I've asked for help, I will remove and check the bulbs, I was hoping I could put power to the hand brake switch plug and get it to light up so when I change the switch I know it's fixed, I want to do more tests but I'm not sure how

Hi all,
98 boxster s
roof isn't working I've removed the hand brake switich and will replace soon as porsche open, Is there anyway of testing the light on the dash is working, if the bulb was blown would that still stop the roof working, If I undo the manual catch the windows do drop couple of inches still, is there any manual ways to get into the engine bay until I can get the switch replaced.
Thank you for any help

Just an update I found the problem the bulb was blown on the dash so the hand brake switch wires I put a bit of wire across so the light was on and i pulled the top catch down and pressed on the 2 contacts on the back pressed the button and the roof is working so I removed the part and resoldered the broken joint and that's the roof working as it should do.
