  1. Hello All, I have a friend with a 2000 Boxster (M96/23) and he bought a S engine (M96/21). Is it a straightforward swap or does the harness need to be hacked into? He mentioned that there is a sensor on the camshaft on one but not the other? Thanks! Sprint.
  2. I'm concerned about the mating about the engine to the tranny. I've heard on the 944 forums that the Boxster tranny has 3 bolts ok, 1 bolt off. By associative relationship, the Boxster engine is similar to the 996 engine, thereby having same mounting points to tranny but the TT engine is similar to GT3 engine which is 964-based (ok, the block is), then is there a mating issue? As for DME, I suppose the whole harness has to go over? No chance of just pulling the TT DME and expect it to work with the 996 harness? Thanks for the input! Sprint.
  3. Hello all! Would like to know what's involved to shoehorn in a 996TT engine into a '98 996 C2. There's a 996TT wreck available and the engine's good. It starts and runs. Is it possible? Both are Tips but I'd prefer to keep the C2 a C2. :-) Thanks for any insight. Sprint.
  4. Hi! Thanks for the reply. Push thru the hole? Do I need to twist the allen wrench? What size does it take? I had a '97 Boxster and the airbag was held on by 2 Torx screws. It was quite obvious how it work. This Cayman is very different! Thanks! Sprint.
  5. Hello All! Car is a '07 Cayman S. Does anyone know how to remove the steering wheel? It's a 3-spoke wheel. I see only a small hole on the back of it but can't put a light to see if it's a screw or what... Thanks! Sprint.
  6. For 2008, there is already a facelifted Cayenne which they call the 957. I'm working on a retrofit kit to facelifts a 2003-2005 to this 2008 look. Available in Turbo and non-Turbo flavors. :-) Any interest fellas? Sprint.
  7. Hello All, I got a '97 Boxster. RHD. It was good till last afternoon when pulling on the rear boot release lever in the cabin didn't release the rear boot. And my remote is wonky, so it doesn't release the boot either. Any manual releases? I've heard about front ones but not for the rear. Thanks. Sprint.
  8. Hi All. My pal has a limited edition 50 years of the 550 Spyder. Everytime we start it up, all the warning lights extinguish. Then when we press the spoiler raise button, we get an error message after 5 secs. It reads : "Spoiler Control Failure" Also, when we drive above about 5km/h, we get a ABS/PSM error message. Are the problems related? I tried pulling out the rear spoiler fuse (which is also the rear bonnet fuse) and I still get that Spoiler Control Failure message. I did swap relays 3 and 9 on the rear trunk too. No effect. Where else should we look? More info. Car got flooded before. We bought a new alarm ECU and had the dealer code it. Now everything work except for the rear spoiler and the ABS/PSM light once above 5 km/h. Thanks! Sprint.
  9. Hey.. I'm cool, not a thief! Have a beer! The key does "blink" when I press the key. And I know for a fact that the Immobilizer module, which is under the seat has been submerged in water. So, the right thing now to do is to bring it to the dealership to have it reprogrammed? Will I need a new DME module? I'm asking becoz I don't want to be screwed over by the dealer... Thanks for listening! Sprint.
  10. Hello All, It's a 2003 GT Silver 50 Years of the 550 Spyder LE Boxster S. The car was damaged in a flood and I'm trying to revive it. I read the 2001 Boxster manual and there's a line from the DME ECU to Immobilizer. What kind of signal does it send? 12V, 5V, Earth or some resistance? Is there anyway to bypass the immobilizer and just crank up the engine? I've got fuel pressure and the eGas throttle moves when the ignition key is turned on. I just wanna get spark and get it started so I dare buy it. The pinout from the 2001 is so very different from this 2003 car. This says it's a Cartronic ECU. The socket is not a one-piece but about 4 pieces? So, if anyone has a pin-out, I'd be grateful. Sprint aka Alvin.
