  1. For cars that have an oil dipstick, I have been thinking about designing an oil changer pump that will be like nothing else on the planet and will have the following features:

    1.      Of course you will not have to jack up the car as the oil will be extracted through dipstick hole.

    2.      Unlike other extractors on the market , this unit will not require

    a.      An air compressor to operate

    b.      Manual pumping to create suction

    c.      The user to dump the oil, it is pumped directly into the recycle container

    3.      This unit is very small and easy to handle

    4.      Made in USA of machined aluminum NOT plastic

    5.      Can extract warm oil in 2-5 minutes depending on vehicle capacity

    6.      Does not require a battery, operates on your car’s 12 volt battery

    7.      Costs less than some people pay for an oil change

    8.      Anyone can easily use it from teens to non-mechanical persons to the elderly

    9.      Allows you to change your oil without jacking up your car in as little as 5 minutes.

    10.   Looks Awesome I billet aluminum or anodized blue

Would you be interested in such a device? If enough people are interested I will engineer one like nothing currently in existence.  Let me know.

  2. We are posting this very sincere THANK YOU to all members who have supported our efforts to spread the word about the Light Savers.  The Light Savers have been well received without exception and it makes us very happy to know that we have provided a useful fix for our fellow enthusiasts.  Please continue to spread the word to anyone that might need them and direct them to the products tab on our website www.RennFix.com.  Thank you again everyone and keep an eye out for our next big invention that I believe is the best yet!  ;)

  3. Here is a sneak preview of what we are designing for the Aluminum version "Light Saver 2" we are working on the tooling and molds and they should be available in 90-days if all goes well as planned. Take a look. The words "Light Saver" on the current version will be replaced with the initials "LS" as you will see and the letters will be offered in the color of your choice.

  4. Light Savers are now available and have been now for about a week.

They can be purchased from our website - www.ycccdiy.com

They are also on eBay for the same price just search for "Porsche Light Savers"

You may also send a payment directly to our PayPal e-mail at: Porschetaillight@gmail.com

We did have a special for $29.95 which many have been asking about. That special has ended but we may run another special around Christmas.

The current price is $79.95 for a set of 2 not each. I am working very hard on getting the aluminum powder coated version up and available but for now we only have the automotive thermal impact plastic version. The aluminum version will be $124.95 and will also be on our website and on eBay and via direct PayPal as well.

I will post another video for the aluminum version as well. Here is a link for installation of the polymer version. We strongly recommend that you watch the video before attempting to install your Light Savers and close the engine compartment lid slowly at first while checking for clearance!

  5. Sounds like a great deal; especially for those of us that have broken tabs. Can you put me down for a set is seal gray if possible. Please let me know and I can PayPal the funds to you or purchase them on your web site. Thank you again for replying back so quickly.

    Thanks,

    Saadi

Do you still want seal gray? I strongly recommend against it and suggest you watch the YouTube Video first before choosing seal gray.  I can make them, but you probably won't like the way they look when you get them.  I would go with black like the OEM mount flange.  But if you ultimately decide you want gray, red, yellow, blue etc.  I can make them, just let me know.

  6. The Light Savers are in production and a batch of "Lucky-13" will be placed on eBay Monday afternoon.  A link to the listing will be posted here on 6speed. Once the initial 13 promotionally priced units are gone, the Light Savers can be purchased from my website www.ycccdiy.com for the regular price of $79.95. Those who get the promo "Thank You" price please post  pics and reviews of product for others to see. We already have some happy customers:

  8. Hi Guys,

I am finished with the new design and am currently, as in today, producing parts.  Unless something goes wrong I will be releasing the "lucky 13" on Monday.  I will post a link here on 6Speed to an eBay listing for 13 at the introductory price of $29.95. after that, refer to my website, www.ycccdiy.com where they can be purchased at the full price of $79.95.  If you are purchasing from outside the USA, please be sure to select the correct buy it now button as shipping is different for USA and international.  Thank you all for your patience, I'm heading back out to the shop.  Look for my "Light Savers" video on my youtube channel, engineerboy100 also, coming tomorrow (Sunday) for a look at the final version and tips on how to install correctly.

I am happy to announce that the first few sets of "LIGHT SAVERS" have been shipped to customers for review and comment.  After these customers

have commented on what they think of the product and what they like and /or what should be changed, we will make necessary adjustments and release

    them to everyone.

  10. In Europe we have same problems . hope the test become a succes.

    Hopefully shipping to Europe?

Yes we will be shipping to world wide.  The final product material looks like is going to be made high impact high temperature thermal automotive plastic.  This material has proven in our test to be superior is strength, aesthetics and heat tolerance.  It also enables us to offer almost any color imaginable, however black is recommended as other colors show thru the crack between the light and the trunk lid.  once the "LIGHT SAVERS" are available they will be posted on my website www.ycccdiy.com and installation instructional videos will be posted on my YouTube channel; engineerboy100.  the forecast is about 3 or 4 weeks maybe sooner.  Thank you for your interest.

  11. How do we go about purchasing a set of these light savers?

I will be shipping a few out for review to some of the administrative forum members this Monday.  I will wait for their feedback and if all goes well I will post a one week special for forum members only.  The price will basically be to recover material costs etc. $29.95. there after they will be available on my website www.ycccdiy.com, they will be posted there after the spacial. full price is $79.95.  The standard color is white letters on a black body.  If members with to have another color to match their car, they should let me know, I have a virtually limitless ability to provide different colors. The materials right now are 1. Fiberglass reinforced high impact thermal plastic and 2. Fiberglass reinforced aluminum alloy composite. 3. Cast aluminum is still in the works for the tooling. Feel free to ask any additional questions you like it does not bother me and I am very responsive. I will not be able to post the special until I pay for my merchant account here on renntech.org, that will take place in the first part of March.

  12. Hi guys....I know I am about to get flamed about being a cheapass with a $100K car, but here goes! Has anyone come up with a cheap and easy "fix" for the broken 996tt taillights? I am talking about the issue of the plastic becoming brittle and breaking where the mounting screws attach them to the car. Mine are broken completely on both sides! Based on the poor design I expect I am not the only one who needs or will need this soon! I saw a thread about using model glue, but mine are well past that!

My dealer's tech would not pass me for my last track day because I had used duct tape to secure the taillights in place! (I am from Alabama!) They wanted $600 apiece to replace them! I ended up begging my way into the event by convincing the Tech Marshall that the taillights weren't going to come flying out at speed!

I hate the thought of spending money on something that still works! Let the flaming begin!

Why the Tail Light Mount Bracket Cracks on the

    Porsche 911, 996 Turbo, Turbo S, GT2, C4 and C4S 2001 - 2005

This is a very common failure on these cars

Everyone should have this bracket on their tail lights regardless of whether or not the lights have begun to crack yet or not.

There are basically 4 reasons why the brackets fail.

    1.    The weight of the rear mounted engine makes the back of the car slam down hard when it goes over bumps in the road.

    2.    The sporty suspension is stiff and also makes the back of the car slam down hard.

    3.    The thin plastic mount flange gets brittle and is not the strongest plastic to begin with.

    4.    There is space between the underside of the engine lid and the top of the mount bracket flange, once the screw loosens or a crack develops, the fixture moves even more and eventually will fall out.

We here at Your Car Care Companion are looking out for you.  We have developed a support brace that looks very much like, but better than the stock mount flange but is much stronger and costs hundreds of dollars less than even a used cracked light fixture from an auto recycle center.  Everyone with a Porsche 996 Turbo, Turbo s, GT2, C4 or C4S should have this on their tail lights regardless of the condition especially if you track the car.  The bracket will be available very soon. We will update.

Don’t wait until your light fixture cracks breaks or falls off in the street or on the track.  This solid aluminum brace is excellent for protecting to secure your new lights from damage and prevent your old cracked lights from rattling and falling out like nothing else on the market. You do not need to replace your entire tail fixtures just because the mount brackets are cracked. This is a permanent fix that will support your light fixture better than the original plastic mount. Get yours today and tell a friend!
