My new to me '09 GTS Cayenne with 15, 000 miles has a banging/knocking sound coming from the rear at speeds below 15 mph. It s very similar to the sound I had on my 997s when the welds on the sport exhaust broke. I almost sounds like a rock in a hub cap. Any ideas before I take it in? ...Thanks.

The factory has never changed the water pipes from plastic to metal ones during the production, these were intended only as the ultimate upgrade for V8 up to MY06 with indirect fuel injection. From MY08 V8 with direct injection, they are still made from plastic, but a different design. Maybe it will surprise that MY07 is missing, that's because MY08 (VIN) is delivered early 2007. This fact will affect the purchase/sale price in some countries depending on whether the VIN MY or the date of entry into service is applicable, if the purchase prise is linked to the entry into service date there is no problem, in the other case (per MY) the car is too expensive under certain circumstances, for example MY08 delivered early 2007.
So I just bought a CPO 2009 GTS and from what you are saying it still has plastic pipes. Why didn't they just use the metal ones that appear to be everywhere now, If they are still plastic, how reliable are the later models with them? Thanks....GR

The TSB "coolant pipe remove/reinstall" states "labor time 100 TU"---what does 100TU translate to? I think I read somewhere that It's a 4 1/2 hour job.
What year did they switch over to the metal ones? Thanks....GR

As it turned out, a part of the TPMS was loose inside the tire and was bagging around at low speeds against the rim.....GR
