Thanks for the info.
My car is due to arrive at the san diego port on 3/17. So I guess a couple more weeks to go!
-
The car sure looks nice with the sport design wheels on them.
The car I am getting is equipped with the Carrera S wheel, I wonder if the dealer will let me exchange them for the sport design one by just paying the difference between those two? Did you guys just buy another set or did you guys swap them with some dealerships also?

Which one do you guys like?

A quick update...
State Farm has decided to total my car even though the damages came to only $20K. Thats $15K in parts plus another $5K to remove and re-install the engine. The engine has to be removed to replace the lower rear frame rails that hold the rear bumper. I go a salvage price of $60K but then I would have to fight for at least another $15K in dimished value. This is possible but it will take more time.
I pushed SF to total the car and since I bought the gap insurance when I bought the car I'll come out completely whole. In fact, the total claims adjuster on my case has already started looking for an identical 911 and they may even buy it and just hand it to me as a full replacement!
I've never heard of this but if it they give me a replacement (I should know in a day or two) I'll certainly be thrilled with State Farms service...
State Farm is awesome. I got in a car accident 2 years ago. I decided to have my car totalled instead of fixing it. The car was only 2 months old and State Farm wrote me a check that was the same amount I paid for the car! Tax included also!!!! And the best part was, I got the check 6 CALENDAR DAYS after my accident!!!!!

Do you know if it is also that simple for a manual 997? And by the way, what is the part number for the multi-function wheel for a manual 997? Is it the same number as the tiptronic ones?
I'm really not sure if it's the same for the 6 spd.
The part number for the same carbon kit that I ordered is different for the 997 6spd.
It is: 99704480037A10
It is actually a better deal to purchase the Wheel, shifter and ebrake than to buy the wheel by itself. I don't know what the individual part number is for the wheel only.
Activating the wheel is going to likely cost you a few hundred bucks at the dealer.
Thanks for the info.
Do you remember how much the kit was and how much it would be if I purchase just the wheel?

Does anyone know if the sport chrono package can be added on to the 997 after taking delivery of the car?

Dealer just called and told me that my new 2006 997 was finally on the vessel on 2/24/06. Does anyone know how long it takes usually before it gets to the dealership? I am in California by the way. I can't wait!!!!!
Lease Vs Buy

My car is arriving sometime around the 20th of this month. I am plannning to lease this time instead of buying it.
I purchased my last C4 and after driving it for a few years, I realized that the depreciation is pretty close to the cost of leasing it. Since I can use the lease payment as a tax write off and I don't plan on doing major mods to it, and I like the idea of getting a new one every few years, I decided to go with the lease.
