Hey everyone. Like I posted in a previous topic, I have smoke blowing out of my exhaust in tremendous amounts. At first I thought it was bad rings, but after some research it more likely seems to be a bad aos. I have already removed the faulty part and plan on ordering a new one this weekend. Since I was already doing work to it, I figured I would do a compression test anyways. The results are as follows: 1: 125PSI 2:140PSI 3:140PSI 4:140PSI 5:120PSI 6:130PSI. Do those numbers look alright or within tolerance? The vehicle has 75k mies on it, its an 01 boxster 2.7L with triptonic. The test was done dry and on a cold engine. The engine would not stay running, so I could not do it once it was warmed up. All of the spark plugs were removed and the throttle was wide opened. As a back ground for the car, this is my first porsche and I purchased it in the condition it is in. Which is non-running. It starts, but does not idle, blows a lot of smoke out of the exhaust, and had puddles of oil in the intake as well as leaking from all over the exhaust ( this is why I concluded it has a bad aos). If anyone has any info that might be helpful, please let me know. Like I said earlier, this is my first experience with a porsche; on another note I do know my way around a vehicle fairly well.
