New member, 1rst Porsche

Goodmorning!

Its my first porsche and so far I am so in Love with it! I was a volkswagen fanatic prior owning a 20th AE, standard GTI, and the famed R32 (which was traded for ze Porsche). Every morning on my way to school is a happier one when I get to drive her. It's a 996 C2, lot of miles but I knew the previous owner to an extent and he took good care of it. So Im happy to be driving her. Drove her down from Chicago to join me in sunny Florida and was perhaps the best road trip I have ever taken!! This was my first boxer motor and wasnt the last, purchased a STI as well but thats for another topic thread. A few questions though....

1) Mass airflow sensor is buming out

2) Cat by pass pipes are out and for sale if anyone is interested ($150 OBO if anyone is interested)

3) Good all around exhaust ??

4) Revo or GIAC software would do the trick?

HI,

Congrats on your new P-car... Looks just like mine expect mine has a 4 on the back. One of the best cars I have ever owned, just plan on having 1-2 thousand a year in maintenance costs.

1) How do you know this? Instead of replacing first which is not cheap ($350) Try taking it out and using some contact cleaner. That should do the trick

3) IMPO I did the 3.6 MK II Mod. It's very close to the real PSE that porsche sells for $1500-2000 but only cost me $70. Sounds great. Check out Rennlist and search for the PSE mod and read about it. Won't give you any more power but does sound 10x better.

4) IMPO not really worth it, but other will say different. Do a search and you will have a better idea of what works best for you. It really is hard to get more power out of these engines.

The best mod for the price is a SSK I like the B&M should be able to find it for $199
