Another Dumb De-Snorkeling Question

Gawd I hate to ask this, considering all the DIY posts there are, but none of them seem to address to a 2003-2004 Boxster. The body colored side vents on my 2003 S are a bit of a different configuration than the earlier cars and I am having trouble removing mine.

I know, remove the screw and push in on the bottom left etc., but that doesn't seem to work. The bottom edge is very stiff and has no flexibility or give, so there is no pushing it inward. The top will start to come out to a 1/4" or so, but then it seems that any more force might break the part and I don't need that. All this being said, do any of you have experience de-snorkling a 2003 or 2004?
