Dead Battery

Recommended Posts

Ok, my Porsche has been standing a lot lately. I have not had the time to keep her battery power charged. SO! I tried to start her yesterday and noticed very little power. I cannot even pop the hood to get to the battery.

Can anyone tell me what I can do to jump the car without accessing the battery?

Loren?

I know this is an old post but can't you just push start the car?

There is a note in the owner's manual stating that push starting the car might damage the catalytic converters and other components of the car. Seeing how these cars are just mobile computers that happen to have an engine and transmission for propulsion, it might be a good idea to follow the owner's manual. However, if the flood waters are rising quickly....

I have "push started" my 1997 while it was rolling. Meaning I was coasting, put in the clutch, turned off the engine, then turned the ignition on, and then let out the clutch. Engine came back to life like any other car.

I also tried in a parking lot pushing by myself but could got get the car moving fast enough, plus it has a high compression engine. The Box is a heavy car to push by yourself.
