A/C and speedometer tachometer problems

Recommended Posts

After having my car in the body shop (right rear quarter panel replaced) and a dead battery...my cars manual trunk and hood latch are locked...speedo and tach as well as the digital part...does not work....( gas guage and temp work???...spoiler doesnt work..(relay???) ...the a/c snowflake symbol on the controls come on for 1 second and then goes out...everything else is good...heat and vents..blower work...Anyone familiar with all the stuff going out all at once, and if it can be reset at the dealer??? I ordered a M535 from sunset it was damp...but does it control all the other stuff???

Could be ignition switch broken. A lot of times mechanics not familiar with car can torque the key to hard and break it. Try wiggling the key (more counter clockwise) and see if the offending systems recover.

The plastic piece can be found on ebay and Autozone online. Do a search here for part number. it runs from $14-30 depending on source. Can be a DIY replace (instructions also on this site)

Good luck

There is a fuse (row b, fuse 10 I think) for the gauge cluster. Also, if my weak eyes are reading the wiring diagram correctly, the control unit for the HVAC may also be affected. Make sure to check it before spending too many $$$.
