PCM Navigation Support

Recommended Posts

I recent question came up where a fellow forum member needs a specific CD for his Porsche navigation system. He replied he had no success in contacting Porsche or Navtech. I called Navteq since I had ordered one from them last year and they gave the answer they no longer supported Porsche and to call the dealer. So I too called the dealer. They can't help either.

I was wondering since there isn't any apparent support for the manufacturers could we support each other in this? I have PCM 1 discs number 1 (2001.1) and 2 (2001.1). Disc 1 covers California and Nevada, Disc 2 is WA, OR, ID, UT, MT, AZ, CO, WY, NM.

I made a copy of mine and use it in the car and keep the original on my book case. I realize there are better, and more current options available like Tom Tom, Garmin, etc, but without the Nav disc the system is useless. I would be willing to provide a copy at no charge should anyone need one.

Unless Porsche gets onboard in helping its customers what does one do?

Ideas?

I'm with on that idea. I have a PCM1 and there is little to know help for us here in the US. I have read that there is a software update and better maps done by a 3rd party, but I have only seen them for Europe.

If anybody has info on this type of upgrade I'd be interested to read about it. Thanks!
