Hello forum,

I was tinkering around my 05 CTT the other night and removed the panel that allows access to the brake fluid reservoir and I saw this component wedged under some wiring. It wasn't plugged into anything and was just floating free. I looked around but couldn't figure out where it came from. There are a couple of detents that make me think it is keyed to be twisted into an opening somethere. Does anyone know what this is and what it does? The car runs fine. Looks like a sensor of some kind.

Thanks all in advance.

That is the air quality sensor for the climate control. It fits onto the main plastic cowling cover near the brake master, the slides it engages are often damaged so I just plastic tie the sensor up out of the way so it doesn't get wet.
