Help needed: how to update Transfer case TCM software

Hi Everyone
I'm in the midst of rebuilding my 2011 Cayenne turbo's transfer case. I have the newer style Transfer case (1.25in chain) and I bought the internals from AWD.tech. Andrew from AWD.tech told me there's a newer software/firmware for the 2017 (or 18?) transfer cases that had CNG coated plates that I need to make my TC work properly. I have PIWIS 2 but have never used it... can I do the software update directly on my computer or is that a function that only a properly licensed and online PIWIS 2/3 would be able to accomplish?

if I am able to update the software, could anyone tell me where or how to do it? I've searched a bit online and in the forum and can't seem to find it if it is out there. i've seen a few people ask how to update modules but no answers
