The car would be great for someone that know a good mechanic or that knows himself. It is a beautiful car but because it is a salvage flood, it gives me problems. All problems are electrical, when something acts up, i post stuff here, trace the cable make sure it is making good contact and if not i splice the cable and reconnect, and problem goes away. I think that someone that can fix the cables once and for all, could end up with a great car. As you can see from the pictures is very nice and it runs awesome.

BENC911 posted a topic in 997-2 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S, Carrera GTS, 911 Speedster)I will like someone close to New York to replace my fuse box i got one from ebay and there is room with the cables. The car had water damage and i continue to get issues with it. Anyone knows someone or can recommend someone.
BENC911 replied to BENC911's topic in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)i agree - my battery discharges alot on its own - i am not sure if when i did the cable connection i have connected things wrong, hence the mechanic i am in NY and those Rennwerke are thieves so i will not use them, if you know people from the forum or a good mechanic let me know
BENC911 replied to BENC911's topic in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)very weird...........drove it and when i got back started to work..............but know the reverse lights do not work...... do you guys know a good electrical mechanic? car was flooded so i always have all these electrical issues
BENC911 posted a topic in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)Something weird ( AGAIN OMG ) my car things the rear lid is OPEN ( but is NOT ) and because it thinks is OPENED, i cannot close my top! HELP
BENC911 replied to BENC911's topic in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)Well things are better, now I have pasm issues ONLY What is the fuse or fuses? I remember that I could do inside the car pasm off, but now the button are not lighting up, neither the one that looks like a shock absorber nor the one that says sport. That one gives an error which I guess has power? it was weird 3-4 fuses in one of the slots had no power, I did a split from one with power and I was fine. Not sure why it did not have power, maybe I have a relay issue that also feeds the pasm? Not sure but at least all but the PASM is working.
BENC911 posted a topic in 997-1 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4S)I was checking / fixing fuses, pulling them and putting new that kind of stuff and now my windows do not open and the front light are always on! The fuses are ok but I am wondering if by playing around maybe i messed up a relay or something! I tried to fix the fuses to what they should be, in the past the car ( used ) had fuses too big for what the chart called for, so for example i replaced a 30 for a 10 if a 10 was the one needed etc.
Thanks, i will communicate this to the mechanic!
They checked the fuel line ( did a smoke test ? ) and nothing............. Ideas?

Any ideas? I also had the tires replaced and was getting the TPM warning and thought that was it,but got that fixed and still the failure of headlinghts still there? Perhaps a fuse? anyone knows which one to look at?
