I have a buddy who is a mustang freak and owns a 2013 Mustang GT without any aftermarket upgrades. He has the "track pack" which he believes puts his "stang" right there with exotic sports cars. He thinks because his V8 has about the same HP as my 996 TT that it would beat it. I tried to tell him that it won't be close unless he gets a GT500 or adds some serious muscle to get it over 600hp and then hope he can keep the wheels from just spinning. I came here to see if any of you know more specs between the too. I have been trying to find the weight of the 2004 996 hard top cabriolet with TT because I know it has an aluminum frame and the engine is much lighter than the Ford V8 but can't seem to find the specs. The 2013 Ford Mustang GT weighs around 3800lbs I believe. What other specs would make a big difference between the two? I have AWD so the car sticks, my wheels are 18's and he has 19's which I would think might make mine quicker. I had an 09 BMW M3 before the 996 and it would beat his mustang and the 996 is much faster than the M3, especially once you are already cruising. I'm not impressed with the 996's start out of first but after that it's a rocket (manual). The worst are the Mustang owners who think they have a high end sports car because they can smoke the wheels and it's loud. I won't even race them when they try on the highway or whatever, it's not worth risking a life or a ticket for racing a big piece of plastic. Thanks in advance for any comparable specs.
