Dear Loren,

I am very new to the Porsche thing. Your knowledge about 996's is very impressive, I have read many postings from you and other members. I really need your assistance in resolving a problem that I'm having with my 1999 996 coupe. I have had the car in the shop for some 4 months now and they can't understand why the car will not idle by itself without keeping the accelarator pressed. I know you are my source when in need. Thanks in Advance...fellow Porsche Lover.

Thanks so much for the information, I was able to open the trunk on my 1999 911 C-4 (dead

battery) the method I used was to acess the engine compartment via left tailight lens (cable) then jumped the car via the postive lead in the engine compartment. Once started the hood opened!! Also just received the radio codes and will try them ASAP. Thank you again and I will be a supporter of this forum. Best regards Lee Gardner
