3.2 6 speed into a 2.5 tip non-egas help

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have a MY99 with a 2.5 that has a bad head gasket. It has the tiptronic on it. I also have a 2002 Boxster S with a six speed as a doner car. All parts are available to swap, so im thinking of changing out the motor and the six speed. Id rather not change out the motor only and have to reprogram dme with 3.4 software, the original 2.5 throttle body need to be replaced, and i would have to source a 3.4 throttle body for the cable throttle assembly. Since th 99 is non egas, i want to take out the complete motor and Dme off the S, as well as a gas pedal assembly fom the Boxster S The problem is that the doner car is about 80 miles away, so i would like to have a parts list available for them to pull, so i dont keep having to call them and have more parts pulled and shipped. This is what i am assuming that i would need from the doner car, if anyone thinks of anything else i would need, and why, then please post the items up. I will also have a 2.5 with tiptronic available and many other parts off the motor. (2.5 motor would need a head job)

Things i need to have pulled off boxster s and shipped:

3.2 motor and six speed tranny

complete intake and exhaust

Egas Throttle assembly

Clutch hydrolic cables

Cutch pedal assembly

Shifter assembly and cables

Gauges cluster

key and key assembly

Does anyone one know if the wiring inside the car would need to be pulled as well.( gas pedal to dme module) Obviously the the 99 does not have a electronic cable to run back to the motor, but a standard mechanical cable, so can i just run the extra needed cables for the throttle, or do they use a different multipin connector and/or cable assembly.

For the tranny side you will also need the axels (they are a different length and size than the 5 speed), hubs (axels are differnet size so the hubs are needed) Calipers and rotors to go with the new hubs as the 3.2L rotors and calipers do not fit on the new hubs. Also, the clutch disk is different than the 2.7L (The spline is different)

I realize this is a super old thread but better to search than to post a repeat topic, I am doing this exact swap over this Winter except I will have both cars with me. I was going to completely strip the salvaged S and swap over every single harness and fuse box into my 97 base. glad I found a parts list
