  1. Hi, looking to add an amplifier to my MY2003 Boxster (RHD)which is fitted with the MOST fibre optic system. There seem to so many different amp part numbers and its very difficult knowing which one's are compatible. Is there a clue in the part number whether the amps are standard or MOST? I am looking for either the Harman 4x60w or 6x60w or the Bose equivlant. Thanks
  2. Answering my own question - yes you can fit the CDC4 multichanger to the CDR23 head unit without an amp being fitted to the car. The fibre optic cable comes in two pieces I just used the single piece to hook the two units together, followed the TSB but didn't use the connector pins as described because I didn't want to disconnect the power to the radio because I don't know the code. A word of WARNING be extremely careful with the fibre optic cable and bear in mind where this cable will end up once its plugged into the back of the radio and you push the radio back into its permanent positon. I had a few difficulties to start with and re-routed it numerous times to compensate. The Porsche dealership coded up the multichanger and eventually the system found the recent install but only after several attempts. All work well and they only charged half an hours labour instead of the quoted hour - thanks everyone!! And by the way may car is a RHD and not LHD always getting my rights and lefts mixed up ! :jump:
  3. Thanks Loren and ToolPants for the guidance and certainly the pictures, do you guys know if I can fit the CDC4 multichanger to a CDR23 without an amplifier (bose or Harman) installed? The TSB states that the instructions are only for vehicles with such an amp. The only differences I can see are 1) there will be no need to wire B6 (conrol output for the amp) and 2) I will use the single MOST cable direct to the CDC4 rather than the T bar shaped MOST which as the output/input for the amp as well as the input/output for the CDC4. Please tell me I can otherwise I will have to by an amp and retrofit or sell all the other bits !!!! In the UK the Porsche dealer is quoting £100 for the few minutes to encode the CDC4 - I am definately in the wrong job !! Thanks guys
  4. Hi,thanks for the reply - no all i got given was the cdc4 and the fibre optic cable, I wrongly assumed that the power etc. would be close to hand in the area where i would mount the cd changer, but I was wrong. I have got no instructions but I will look at the area you have guided me towards. many thanks
  5. Hi, Brand new to the forum and in desperate need of some help please. I have got a 2003 boxster LHD (UK spec) with the CDR23 radio and I am trying to install the CDC4 multichanger, I have got the MOST fibre optic cable part number 996.622.705.00 but have not got any power to the multuichanger. The dealer said that it will be pre-wired and in the area of where the multichanger would be located. Well after 2hours of taking everything apart and stripping out I still can't find it. Is there a way of running a seperate power and earth lead from the head unit to the multichanger and if so anybody know the part number? I appreciate after the install i may have to take it to the main dealer for coding. Thanks
