  1. There are various reasons you could have a tick. Might be worth running some thicker 5w40 to see if that remedies the problem or at least having your bores scoped to confirm the problem before diving into an engine rebuild. My tick presented exactly like the scored bore symptoms but was the result of an exhaust header gasket that was installed upside down allowing air to leak between the exhaust and air injection ports(?)
