  1. thanks for the info. Here's what Im thinkin is the problem. After i had the problem, the car sat for almost a week and i drove it today. No problem at all for hrs. Then it started again. The last time i experienced these symptoms it was my clutch going bad in a 1988 honda accord. Same thing, third went first and so on. It's as though it is good for a few hrs, then starts to heat and slip. I'm getting it looked at tomorrow. thanks for you two that replied, i appreciate it. I'll keep ya posted. if i can afford internet after the repairs lol. thanks dave
  2. thanks for the info. I'm gonna get it checked out asap. This is my first porsche, i've only had it a year and I'm just worried it may cost quite a bit. I'll find out soon enough. thanks again
  3. i have 99 boxster, 36k miles. Been maintained well. Today when i shifted into 3rd, the gear grinded very slightly going into gear. No other gear does this and it only does it about 1 out of 3 times i shift into 3rd. The shift lever seems a little sloppy, could an adjustment have come loose or is there possibly something worse? by the way theh shift lever always had some side-to-side play, but now it seems a bit more front to back as well any help is appreciated. Thanks
