I decided it was time to take care of some issues my 996 had so I had both the PSE mufflers replaced (one was slighltly broken) and I installed the aero kit side skirts. The end result is visually great even without front and rear bumpers (the car is black) but I did mess up the installation a bit and I thought I should give a tip or two to anyone trying this DIY project.
The side skirt install is an easy project but one must be ABSOLUTELY sure the skirt fits perfectly BEFORE removing the adhesive tape. To make sure you have placed the side skirt correctly, I suggest you have the door open so you can see exactly what the correct height is. I didn't know this, so after I had the first one installed I realised it was placed too high up and the door barely clears when opened.
So, even though my mistake is not visible from the outside it really bothers me knowing it is not right. I was thinking of heating the glue (hairdryer?) and trying to push the skirt down for about 4mm that needs to move. Do you think this will work or will I be wasting my time?
Thanks for the tip, as I'm after fitting a set myself. Where did you get yours from?

Apologies if this has been asked before -and I'm sure it has - but will a Turbo front bumper fit my 2002 C4 or are modifications required, and if so is bumper removal / replacement straight forward.
Thanks

I've tried a search but to no avail. is it possible to reto-fit factory Sat Nav to a 996, or is the work / price prohibitive?
Thanks

I'm looking for a 996 cab in the uk, but how can I tell if it's an import or not, other than what side the steering wheel is on!
Thanks

Hi guys,
Having recently just fitted a Smart Top to my 2001 C4 the roof now opens and closes followed by a protracted pause and then drops down / slams shut at an alarming rate. I've removed the Smart top and the problem remains.
Fitment of the Smarttop may be a red herring, but it's a bit coincidental. Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Eric
