  1. I successfully replaced the Head unit with a Pioneer app radio, and kept the Bose amp and speakers. I used a stereo replacement kit by Scosche, PE02SR and a head unit trim by Metra. The kit from Scosche is half the cost of the Nav Tv, and works really well and is much better quality, also it does include the steering controls, so your buttons still work. I don't have the Fader control, but I don't care about that. The sound quality and power has improved dramatically. Simple enough to DIY. Also, is completely reversible if you want to put the OEM head unit back. I have an Avin unit on my BMW E46 and is a nice unit, but still has plenty of bugs. It doesn't compare with a Pioneer or Alpine quality.
