    2003 996 Turbo
  1. JFP in PA, Oh, I know well the cost of replacement rotors - that's why I'm so paranoid about anything to do with the brakes on this car A user on another forum suggested that washing the brake area may stop the pads from sticking. I'm going to try that and then if that doesn't help I might have to take it in to see an expert. Thanks for the feedback.
  2. I have a 2003 996 turbo with PCCBs and the original factory rotors as far as I can tell. Since I've had the car I've had loud squealing coming from the brakes intermittently with light brake pressure. I took it in to the dealership for some other work, asked them about this, and they said it was normal. However, I later put it on a lift and noticed that when I turn the front wheels with my hand there is quite a lot of resistance and a brushing or scraping type sound which sounds like it is coming from the brakes. The wheels do not spin freely at all. Both front wheels are the same. The rears are similar but have less resistance. Is this normal? Is it possibly related to the squealing brake issue I've had? I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks.
