  1. I would also like to add that there is no need to damage the strips to remove them. A few weeks ago I was half way through the job only to find the replacement strips were for a LH drive car and mine is RH drive so the job was stopped. On my second attempt it seemed so easy to do because I knew how it should be done and all the tricks to remove the various dash parts! My tip not already mentioned in this thread is to use a 'flexible shaft' screwdriver with a T10 bit which you feed up from the footwell and guide onto the screwheads with your fingers at the top.
  2. Thanks for the prompt reply. One of my concerns about fitting the B&M short shifter was that the change may be too extreme and hard work before the gearbox warms up. So the 997 part inc. tower may be the right solution for me, especially as I have the option to return to standard. My next job then is to get some prices.
  3. Is the amount of throw the same on both the 996 B&M clone and the 997/986 replacement ?
