  1. @Whyte987S, unfortunately, I bought it AS IS at an auction and normally would not have touched it if I heard the noise but it was loud and I was rushed so I didn't hear the noise until after purchase :(
  2. BAD NEWS guys... I drove the car for about 2hrs today going from one mechanic to the next for opinions and by the end of my trip, the check engine light came on and the engine started really struggling and shaking and I got P0300 and P0307 misfire codes! :( P0300: Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected P0307: Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected Is my engine hopeless?!
  3. ekstroemtj ekstroemtj, I'm in Chicago, IL, USA. stutzchris, after you replaced the pump and coolant, the sound went away? White987S, thanks for the recommendation. I will look into it.
  4. Thanks for the input Chris. Have you heard this sound before on your Cayenne S' and do you remember how much it cost or may cost to fix?
  5. Hi All, I just bought a 2005 Cayenne S 4.5L V8 with 91k miles and I couldn't hear the engine well-enough when I bought it but now that I'm in a quieter area, it's much more evident that the engine has a knock and I wanted to ask for your help in identifying the problem and any possible solutions (hopefully affordable - although admittedly scared of the new engine stories I'm reading in these forums). Here is an 0:08 video of the engine running which should give you an idea of the sound: Any help would be MUCH APPRECIATED! Thanks!
