Angel Martin replied to rlanzone1's topic in 996 Series (Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S, Targa)Thanks for the information. I got the silicone seal and looks great and will last much longer than the original rubber. I also used some auto rubber sealing https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K43BT61/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 around the lense where the original rubber was.
I need to replace the ATF wiring harness in my 2002 986 w/tiptronic due to a defective temperature sensor that forms part of it. I have been unable to find any information as to what it entails and / or how it can be replaced. Appreciate any insight.
I had the same problem and it was the door lock mechanism. When neither of the inside or outside mechanical devices can open the door, and unless the switches at both locations happen to fail at the same time, in my opinion, there is no other option. I replaced the door lock mechanism and now works fine. There are several postings as to how to replace. It is fairly a simple process, although a little bit tricky getting it in and out of its position. I did it, so I'm sure most people would be able to do it 😎
