  1. ..well the dealer found that a fuel line which is part of the pump disconnected, thus no pressure. He ordered new pump becuase when the line was reconnected it was easily disconnected again. He said normally when attached you must really force them off. it makes me wonder whether they were properly attached when the 1st pump was replaced.
  2. This is a repeat issue. First occurence was Jan. 3, '06. problem was diagnosed as a bad fuel pump. R and R fuel pump. With less than 1,000 miles since repair, car again would crank but not start. April 17, '06. Onboth occasions it was th day's FIRST start. The motor actually caught, just momentarily, then died. Afterwards it just cranked and would not fire. I'm now concerned that the first diagnisis was incorrect. I'm thinking there is something in the fuel delivery system that is cutting off fuel...and then staying in that mode. I think during the installation of the first fuel pump, the system was, for lack of a better word, reset. Thus it appeared to fix problem. I have heard of no fuel pump issue in these cars and dealer agrees, they have no had any others go south. What do you think ??
  3. this is the second occurrence. The first was on Jan 3, '06. A new fuel pump was installed and all worked well. With less than 1,000 miles since then, the car again cranks but will not start. On both occasions it was a first start of the day. The car actually caught, then died. I've heard of zero fuel pump issues with Boxsters, and believe my issues are somewhere else in the fuel delivery system. I'm thinking a electronic cut-off of some sort in the system. Any thoughts. Oh by the way I think somehow the system may have re-set, for lack of a better word, when the new fuel pump was installed in January, making it seem an appropriate fix.
