  1. I test drove a 95 C2 Cab (993) and 99 C2 coupe (996) and finally decided on the 996. I did not feel the 996's brake pedal effort was harder. In fact, maybe slightly the opposite. I felt ALL pedals in the 993 required more effort. Clutch pedal was stiffer. Brake pedal needed some more pressure than the 996 to get the same seat-of-the-pants stopping feeling. I think it was just seat-of-the-pants feeling though. I'm willing to bet the stopping distances weren't much different between these cars.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. My best guess is that the coolant was introduced to the car when the engine was replaced 4 years ago (under a different ownership). I'm pretty sure it's okay. The car never overheated during track days and I don't see any sign of rust. However, since I'm not sure whether this is a lifetime coolant, I'll flush it out after it reaches 5 years (meaning next year).
  3. 99 C2 coupe manual, 90,000 miles. Engine has 38,000 miles. Have been tracked twice so far. 1. Engine replaced when car had 52,000 miles. Previous owner reported engine just died on freeway cruising. 2. Sway bar drop links are now loose and needs replacing. 3. Getting a new clutch put in right now. 4. Mechanic reported RMS is still dry. I chose not to touch it. I think I have a magical RMS that last forever. 5. Replaced sticky ignition switch.
  4. Sure :) Actually, a dealership pointed it out to me during a PPI. An independent shop contradicted that though. He said he has seen blue coolant coming from the factory. I don't know whom is right.
  5. Hi, does anyone have blue coolant in your 996 C2? I bought a used 99 C2 and it has a blue coolant in it. I asked a dealership about this and they said they have never seen a blue coolant from Porsche. I am curious whether anyone have the same coolant as mine and if not, whether it is safe keeping this coolant in the car. Thank you much for any response.
