  1. I plan to remove that oil scavenge pump today and have a look at the gear and the pieces inside to see if the keyway has broken off
  2. Also wanted to mention that the car reads between 2 and 4on the oil pressure gauge when hot, and reads 5 at cold start.
  3. And it's very intermittent one minute it will rattle at idle, the next start up it'll be smooth and only make noise when it's reved, sometimes it sounds like the engines going to fall out of the car.
  4. Oil comes out clean no metal particles to be found, the noise is literally coming from the lowest part of the engine on the passenger side facing the bumper.
  5. Plugs are all tight. Car has no misfire, no check engine light and develops power.... just the noise
  6. We have listened all over the engine, cannot isolate where the noise is coming from it appears to be coming from under the intake manifold
  7. I've already inspected the airbox and it's not interfering with the belt or rotating assemblies, I'll try removing the belt tomorrow and see if all of the pulleys spin freely.
  8. I really need the help of somebody who is experienced with the 3.4 996 engine. I purchased this car about a week ago, it has a very loud intermittent tap, unlikely it's the IMS as it's been upgraded to the LM bearing. one minute it'll start and purr like a kitten the next minute it'll sound like the engine is full of rocks. No loss of power, drivability issues, smoke, check engine light, oil consumption just the noise These videos were taken five minutes apart?!?
