  1. Oh man! That burns. I am doing a lot of work on the car tommorrow. I am purring in the mesh grills in the front and painting the brakes red. I also going to see how much I can get done on the subwofer
  2. I choose the Kenwood KDC-MP4032 because I can plug my mp3 player into it, it has a sub out and a great signal to noise ratio, lastly if I want Sat. Radio I can do that to. I have had JVC's, Alpines, you name it, and Kenwoods have always been good to me. Lastly, Alpine tends to be a bit deep, and as we all know space is limted. Here is an update I am attempting to install the sub volume control to the cig ligter, I'll let you know how that works out! Pics to come soon. Ok, So I hit my first snag. I bought the Infinity Basslink 10" sub, with a built in amp; "they" say it's takes up 1 cubic foot. My thought was to put it deep into the passanger footwell. Then build a false floor around it. I was very wrong. It did not come close to fitting! :censored: So now at a crossroads, I can either put in Focal subs ( very shallow) in the storage box or just buy the Kenwood Slim sub woofer and throw it behind the passanager seat. I have seen that done before. Any thoughts?

  4. You are right! I did swap out the doors speakers for Infinity Ref. 5" and only lows come out still. Do you think if I replace the OEM amp, they will be full sounding again!?
  5. Thanks guys. I have to replace it then Toolpants, cause' I have about a cup of water in the corner lights! Thats more then a little... LOL THanks again
  6. Ok guys here I go. I am going to be installing over the next 3 weeks an Infinity Basslink 10' subwoofer, and a Kenwood CD HD radio head unit. For those of you who don't know about that sub, it takes up about 1 cubic foot and is already powered. My first question is were can a get 2 or 3 yards of black carpeting, to wrap the false floor I am putting in the passanager footwell. I will be adding pics of the process and adding a Kenwood head unit at the same time. The sub box is made out of MDF and has a slight angle to it to make it look OEM. Now I just need carpet matching to give it a stock/seamless look. Any hints, tips and ideas I would to hear it. Keep an eye out on this thread for updates! Thanks everybody
  7. I thought about that but I am going a cheaper and cleaner ie less aggressive look. Changing headlamps and bumpers is big money.
  8. I really like the look of the aftermarket front splitter/spoilers on the Audi S4's and BMW M3's Do you think that the 996 TT front spliter can be fitted to a MY00 Boxster and color matched? http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopca...tec996_pg32.htm Any idea's would be great. Looking for a nice sublte body kit for my car.
  9. I have a MY00 and there is water in the orange light corners of the headlamp. Should I just replace them with clear ones or is there a way to drain it out? How do I make sure this does not happen again? Thanks everybody
  10. Help, This is driving me nuts! I have a MY00 and when I push my clutch pedal to the floor this last inch or so of travel squeks! I put a bit of WD40 on it. That did nothing. What to do? This is one of those things that only I seem to hear...
  11. Hey guys, I have a quick question???? I have SSR GT3 rims; and they are looking pretty dirty. I bought the car used and the rims came with. I have cleaned them up nice BUT brake dust has damaged the fronts a little bit. My question is does anybody have a rim show that they trust in the LA area. I need the rims taken off and polished (inside and out; mostly the insde) maybe (hope not) resprayed. Pic included. Oh and yes I want to replace the bolts too, ugly~
  12. Well, Looks like ALL new fluids, and filters, plugs and belts. Bumper to bumper look over. looks like a lube brakes where checked new pads and the E brake tightend up. So yes I had a lot done. But wow 2k is a lot
  13. Ok I nearly passed out on the Porsche dealership floor. They handed me a bill for $1895.00 for doing a 60k service. Ok so I know that its a big one and that they change the belts and filter and plugs etc... BUT two grand!!! That seems a bit high. Labor is $120 per hour I think... Is this really high or is that normal? On the bright side I am looking to take the car for a spin and feel the differance with new plugs and what not. Cars always seem so much better right after a service. Thanks guys :drive:
  14. I had to open my key the other day to change the battery. AGAIN! **** how long does the battery last; a week. Anyhow, I think the key has been opened and put together again to many times. The plastic pieces aren't seating quite right. Any ideas? I dont think it can be fixed. Yes I checked to "o" ring and yes I snaped in the battery cleanly. Where can I get just the 2 plastic pieces. I dont need to inside electonic unit, or the "key" slab. Weird question I know. Thanks! Happy motoring
  15. You guys where right it was my center "glovebox". I had no idea that was also included in the alarm route. Thanks, I went back to my car and that solved it. You guys rock
  16. OK, I just had this problem happen yesterday. My car started to beep when locking. I double checked both trunks, doors, and top, and I have a stock stereo. Uhh? hmmmm???? What else could it be?
  17. Ok guys, I have a MY00. I keep having the same problem. Wet passanger footwell, and a bit on the drivers side too. Ok the water is coming from where the center consle and front firewall meet. Trickling down the that corner (if you are sitting in the drivers seat the corner where your right foot would be; or left foot in the pasanger seat) Ok I checked all the drain holes, they all seem clear. I always seems to happen when I use my AC a lot. Does anybody else have this problem? HELP! Oh and on a side note, When I was looking around checking the drain holes after a long hot summer drive the front right quarter panel was SUPER hot. Much hotter then any of the other panels. Why so? THanks guys
  18. I have the same MY and issuse and have no idea why. It also seems that the right headlamp is dimmer/miss aimed. Any ideas?
  19. I am thinking about going with their "street" package. I visited their shop last weekend. WHOA! Crazy cars there! If you live in the Northest these guys are your go-to! Top notch stuff. http://www.ktrperformance.com/performance/...che/porsche.htm
  20. Hey thanks for the help everybody. If it ever stops raining in Boston I will give it a try. Has anybody had issuse's with the decal's coming off due to heat? Or does the clear coat prevant that? Thanks PR
  21. Hmm a bit more food for thought. A near by tuner shop that I respect said that the boxster could use another 150hp before and chassis stiffing was needed. At that point breaks become very important as well. With that said, they semm to have a sweet deal. $3k for EVO intake, chip and exhuast,...installed! About 30-40hp. I have been thinking about biting the bullet and going for it. Has anybody heard any reviews about EVO stuff? Thanks for the links
  22. My '98 996 has TC (not PSM, which is different) and the yellow triangle lights up when TC kicks in. It also comes on when TC is turned off, as a wheel starts to spin. The round TC OFF light only comes on when TC is deactivated by the rocker switch, or if there is a fault in the system. HTH Ok that makes sense. Thanks for the insight
  23. :drive: Just put your right foot down on the far right pedal and hang on! It'ill get a bit loud. haha
  24. Hey guys, I have a MY00 and I have been drinving it around a bit in the rain. Once and awhile I get a little heavey on the loud pedal and the rear end gets a little loose! ( fun fun!! :D ) But a yellow triangle light comes on, on my dash. Now I know that it is referring to my TC BUT>>>> in the past when that happened the TC light(orange light) would pop on, now it seems the yellow light comes on. What gives and what should happen? Or is that what should happen? Sorry for so many dumb questions but I am new to Porsche's that have TC. I looked in the owners manual and online and nothing gives me a straight answer. Any help would be great, Thank again
