  1. Yes, the design of the wind deflector leaves much to be desired. Most of us have added a thicker "shim" at the bottom of the deflector to lift it, thereby putting more pressure on the top clips. Some have used weatherstip, I used a self-sticking piece of velcro. Unfortunately, when I first got my '99, I couldn't understand the directions in the manual about installing and removing, and I ended up breaking a clip trying to remove the deflector. I have since driven a small screw down through the top of the clip into the roll bar receiver. I painted the screw, so it's not really noticeable, and the deflector does hold on much better, and hopefully, should be harder to steal. Some day I'll buy the replacement clip set and replace it.
  2. Whew! Thanks Loren! I wasted a lot of time looking for such a simple direct answer.
  3. Simple question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I'm installing new dash speakers in MY99. Right side (passenger) is solid red and red/brown stripe, left side (driver) is solid yellow and yellow/brown stripe. What's freaking me out, is that on one side, the solid goes to the OEM tweeter crossover, and on the other side, the stripe goes to the OEM tweeter crossover (which I'm assuming was the positive - the OEM speaker itself is not marked). Is the wiring the same on both sides, or is it different? Is the stripe or the solid positive, and is it the same on both sides? Thanks, in advance.
  4. Yup, that's what my '99 does. The dashtop LED flashes quickly in unison, then the Locking Button light goes off, and the dashtop LED slows down. I can identify with the paranoia; I disconnected my battery last weekend for a rear speaker install, and I've been freaking out all week trying to remember if everything electrical is acting normally. I think it's normal. I just noticed the same thing on my '01 the other day.
