  1. I got $7,000 off of the sticker on an S here in NJ two months ago. You might do a little better if you spend a lot of time shopping but the marginal return probably wouldn't be worth the effort. Good luck.
  2. Hi Folks, My new wood steering wheel should arrive in a day or two. Anyone have instructions on removing the standard wheel and replacing it with the wood one (including swaping over the airbag and controls) or is this a dealer only operation (i.e. special tools, etc.)? Thanks, Paul
  3. Hi Clint (and others), Thanks for the info. Thats pretty much what I suspected but what threw me off was how that third LED (rear most one) also flashed once upon startup along with the other two and I would have thought it would not even be connected if I didn't have the off road package (which I don't). Thanks again, Paul
  4. Hi Folks, Being a new S owner I'm still moving up the learning curve on it. Does anyone have (or feel like creating) a list of little known features that can be user selected (not just the stereo). For example, I didn't see it published anywhere in the manual (I haven't read the whole thing) but did you know that if you hold in the "Auto" button on the climate control for a second or two that the "MONO" light on the display will illuminate and then the temp control for the driver side will also change the temp for the passengers until the passenger changes their temp at which time it reverts back to dual mode? Any other features that are good to know but not known by those of us too lazy to read the manual cover to cover? I can see some other display options on the screen but haven't figured out yet how to activate them. Thanks for all the great info on this board, Paul
  5. Hi Folks, I'm a new S owner and I have a question for you on the LEDs on the center console for the differential lock. I have the steel suspension (i.e. non-air suspension). On the center console there are 3 LEDs that flash once when you first start the engine (a test flash I presume). When I put my S in neutral and step on the brake (per the instructions) I can then push the switch forward and the center LED lights solid and when I push it forward again the front LED lights solid (so then both the center and front LEDs are lit solid). I can reverse that process to disengage the diffs and low gears and the LEDs go out but how do I get the third (rear most) LED to light up solid)? Is that rear LED only for an error/failure or is it related to the optional air suspension? I haven't actually driven with the switch engaged and two LEDs lit up so maybe the third one lights up after I start driving. Thanks for the help, Paul
  6. Hi Folks, Anyone know where I can purchase Rinspeed parts in the New York/New Jersey area. I like their fender flares and want to price them. Anyone have them, thoughts? Thanks, Paul
  7. Thanks for the reply. I'll let my installer know and it may be helpful. I don't have the Technical Manual but does it describe the location of the wire or show a diamgram of where it is. I'm just hoping to avoid having to have him tear apart the whole dashboard to find the wire. If he can find the wire under the hood it may be easier. My guess is that there may be a couple of wires going to each wheel for the PSM and ABS, etc. He may only need to tap into one of them but it will save some time if we know which one (i.e. wire location, connector pin location, color of wire, etc.) Thanks again, Paul
  8. Hi Folks, Picked up my new S on Thursday and the Alpine navigation system is going in next week (in the single DIN dash opening). I need to locate the speed sensor wire to complete the install (well the installer needs this info). Anyone know where that wire is? Thanks, Paul
  9. Thanks Gert! Thats what I was hoping to hear. That means that I can add a single DIN device in that spot without having a lot of custom work/fabrication done.
  10. Hi Folks, Does anyone know if the opening just below the radio on the dash is a standard single DIN size or is it some size that is unique to our Cayennes? Thanks, Paul
  11. Hi Folks, Sorry for all the questions tonight but I pick up my new S tomorrow. I have the Rocker Guards on order and will be installing them in a week or so but the instructions on the TSB board (thanks whoever put them there) state that you first need to remove the "side member trim and rear spray protection" and refers to the Technical Manual for info on how to do that. Does anyone know exactly what these pieces are, how to remove them and is it tricky? Thanks in advance for any help/advice, Paul
  12. Hi Folks, Has anyone upgraded the bulbs in the factory fog lights to something brighter or whiter? If so, with what? If not, is it not recommended? Thanks, Paul
  13. Hi Folks, Does anyone know if the factory 19" wheels take the round or star center caps. My new wheels should arrive this week and I need to order caps for them. Thanks, Paul
  14. Hi Folks, I'm a new Cayenne S owner. I saw that Techart has some wheels spacers available on their website () and they state that "widens axle at front & rear, suitable for OE wheels 17", 18", 19" und 20", 15mm front and 18mm rear." If these are "suitable for OE wheels", under what circumstances would these be needed? Thanks, Paul PS Great site for P55 info.
  15. Hi, I'm a new member. I pick up my S tomorrow from Ray Catena Porsche in Edison, NJ and got a $7,000 discount on a lightly optioned vehicle. Total with destination charge, memory package, aluminum trim, colored wheel centers, floor mats, and an extra set of tires was $51,984 (sticker was 58,984). Ask for Juno, he did a great job. Good luck, Paul
