  1. Inexpensive is around $1,600 for an all in one system (6.5' LCD, DVD, MP3, XM, + Nav). I heard that a lot of people have complained about the system not being very user friendly, and a lot of people returning it, but it's such a good deal, I'm really thinking about buying it. Dale, can you tell me which one you replaced it for? And how picky are you (would a "normal" person find it acceptable?) Thanks
  2. Hey, I've really been persuaded to get a Navigation system installed in my 2000 Boxster S after seeing it in my boss' Volvo SUV. I see a lot of post for the Alpine D900 Screen and Navigation, but does anybody have any comments on the Pioneer All in One Nav AVIC-N1? I like the fact that it's all in one, but it's pretty inexpensive compared to the Alpine + Nav (standalone units = $3k+). Does anyone have the AVIC-N1 and if so, how do you like it? Is Pioneer skimping on some areas to bring the price down that low? Thanks, I love this board.
  3. Hey, $300 for litronics, that a really cheap deal! I hope you didn't buy them from someone who stole them.... You don't live in Miami do you?
  4. Hey, You should check ebay if you want to find inexpensive porsche keys. I saw an auction recently for 2 911 keys and 1 boxster key (with 2 buttons) (3 keys total) for $150. I think it's still active too (3/19/04).
  5. Hey, I recently installed an Aerokit 1 on my 2000 Boxster S, and the guy's who installed it left a pretty significant gap between the top of the bumper and the bottom of the hood (see pic, hood is fully down). They said that they couldn't fit it in more because there was a "stopper" that physically prevented them from getting a tighter fit. Now there's a whistling noise when I drive around 60mph, so it's getting a lil annoying :( There's also a little gap under the bottom of each headlight. Does anybody have instructions on how to take off the front bumper so that I can try to adjust the bumper for a tighter fit? Thanks.
  6. It's the Aerokit I (one). I haven't had a chance to look at it myself, but from 1 to 10, how hard would it be to wire and install the lighting and disconnection of the rear spoiler? Thanks Loren, your the best!
  7. Hey Everyone, Tell me if this sounds right to you. I was happy to get my Boxster Aerokit I for my 2000 Boxster S recently, and after asking around, I got quotes anywhere from $575-4000 for paint and installation. I knew $575 was REALLY cheap, but I showed them the instructions and they promised Porsche paint and installation. I went for it, then when they recieved the kit, they jacked up the price because they didn't know they had to paint a new rear deck (trunk). It went to $1175...okay I said....grumble grumble.... But today, after all is said and done, they now have the audacity to tell me that they're not disconnecting the automated rear spoiler, and not wiring the rear spoiler light, becuase they don't want to mess with the electrical wiring and it seems too complicated! He thinks it's fair to charge me the full price of the job he quoted, and then wants to send me to an electrician to get the light wired and auto spoiler deactivated, and pay that extra out of my pocket  It seems to me that they accepted a job, started on it, then midway through, decided he was way over his head. Anyways, I'm taking this guy to small claims court (filing that paperwork tommorow). But here's the question I need to know: Does anyone know how to turn off the automatic spoiler and more importantly, wire the rear spoiler (i hear a relay is required)? Thanks in advance, I love this forum.
  8. Hey, I'm going to perform a center console removal this week in order to paint it, and I have a question regarding how to remove the center console on a Boxster S with Tiptronic. The instructions for replacing the B&M short shifter show you how it's done on a manual, but the tiptronic is buggin me because the shifter is so big and I can't lift the "boot" off the shifter (step 1!). Is there any way to take off the knob on the shifter of a Tiptronic, in order to take off the boot so I can finally go to step two? Thanks in advance, I love this forum  .
  9. Hey Ppl, I just paid after tax and everything....$800.26 out the door for my 30k maintenance. Yeah, expensive I know, and I could've taken it to an independent porsche mechanic for $536. But the dealer did take really good care of my car, took care of anything that was broken and under warranty, checked all recall issues, and detailed my car. Guess you get what you pay for, but I just bought my car recently and want to baby it for awhile I guess... :P
  10. :clapping: Wow, NIIIICE. How much are they and where can I get one?
