  1. Thanks. I don't understand previous postings that described a thermostat change on the V8 as a 4 to 5 hour job involving removal of the water pump to access the thermostat housing. Mine is a 2009. Were there changes? Was it a stuck open thermostat after all that was setting this code?
  2. My 2009 Cayenne S keeps setting a P2181 Code "Cooling System Performance", but nothing whatsoever is wrong with the car or its performance at 115,000 miles. The temperature gauge is rock steady at 100 degrees after warm up. I erase the Code, its fine for a while, sometimes a couple of weeks, then reappears with no consistency as to anything triggering it like vehicle speed, warm-up time or any other pattern. So I suspect either a stuck-open thermostat or a faulty sensor. I don't want to change the thermostat if I don't have to since its a real project on the V8. Anyone had experience with this?
