one of the carbon suppliers, I forget which one macarbon or guy out of Europe. have a good tutorial. basically you melt the weld with soldering iron and replace with a screw, washer and nut. check YouTube or search for carbon inserts and tlook at their replacement instructions

my initial suggestion would be since you have the other seat, disconnect motor, and swap it to the new seat. see if it fixes it. however thinking on it more I've rewired my seats after the plugs were removed by PO but I luckily didn't have to deal with motors but my guess, is that each motor is for a different axis of movement. so it's more likely you've got a cable or wire disconnected or crimped. I would guess fore/aft is one motor for both rails and that rail is simply not connected to the work drive?
durametric shows under my AWS C102 CAN Single-Wire Operation "comfort" I noticed it first on my passenger airbag. but then after looking I found it in all the following places. hoping that something in common will help localize seat memory steering column gateway right door does this help localize in any way? I'm also seeing C141 but I assume that's because I no longer have the PCM and have an aftermarket radio. otherwise very few codes shown

maybe unrelated. I'm looking for anything but previous owner said that plug was one that was causing the issue previously. so. that's why I focused on it.
I think it is. seat memory seems to be working however it doesn't move with lock and unlock and since I'm only driver I don't care much. PO told me the plug frequently came disconnected so they "fixed" it. looks like they used heat shrink to press the pins of the box to the wires of the harness. surprisingly secure except for one pin. I noticed under the passenger seat they did the same thing on the module under that seat. no plug just heat shrink over the connections. it appears they simply removed the plug and used the actual pins/connectors for that one however. those connections are actually very secure. but makes me wonder why and what the issue might really be.
somehow this got deleted from original post. this box is the one I'm. suspecting may be a source of my issues look at the hacked up connectors. this is under driver's seat

more of the story just for completeness. I just had a full paint correction done on the vehicle, and ceramic coating. I know the bumpers and hood were heavily buffed and polished. the guy I used does a lot of high-end cars including Porsche. He was aware of the issue with the bumper sensors for the airbags. I'm not 100%, but fairly certain, that after I got the vehicle back it was working correctly. Also it's not throwing the normal codes that people complain of when they've had a front sensor go out. So after the polishing but Immediately preceding this episode with the light I swapped the center console. It was a full console replacement. I had sent mine off to Classic 9 for a full leather wrap and I had just installed it including swapping out all the wiring under the console. Other than one cigarette lighter none of the connections were undone other than the main connection for the console harness and it is reconnected, so I don't see any loose connections being an issue and I checked them pretty well. before buttoning everything up. When I completed the console swap the last thing I did was to change out the passenger airbag light. I simply lifted the light assembly out unplugged it and plugged the new one in. Not sure if any of this matters but, the key was on and I was sitting in the passenger seat on one knee as I basically just leaned in pulled out the plug and swapped it out. I remember when I plugged it in the light came on at that point despite me leaning pretty heavily on that passenger seat. I thought it was odd but didn't make much out of it because I cycled the key sat back down in the passenger seat and it seemed to behave appropriately( the light turned off) . So I moved on and forgot about it for a couple of days. in the back of my mind I keep thinking this was the inciting event but it doesn't really make sense why unplugging this and replacing this light would trip something that can't be reset. I did put the old light back in and see if it was just a problem with the new light and of course that wasn't it. May be unrelated but I wanted to add those last bits of information.

2007 Carrera turbo. cleared fault codes a few days ago. nothing has returned except C102 can single wire operation "comfort." it won't clear with durametric which to me means maybe it's a real fault. initially I had a passenger thorax code above level don't recall the exact code. but it cleared fine and hasn't returned. I'm pretty sure that was the code that PO said was coming up before and they had to take it in for repair. I have a few PCM fault codes spread around but I have pulled the PCM and replaced it with an aftermarket headunit so those are expected. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
If anybody could just post the picture of their plug then I could trace the wiring and make sure the plug is wired correctly that would be a good first start as well thank you
checking with durametric there are no codes for the airbag. several different PCM codes but I have an aftermarket radio in place so I expect those to be there. the light does go off when someone sits there at baseline with car running the weight class is 1. and the light is on. when i jump into the passenger seat it looks like the pic i included. weight class 3. and the light is now off. so it is working but the baseline s incorrect
my POSIP module was "repaired" by Porsche service under the previous owner. this is what they felt was appropriate? basically they heat shrinked the plugs leads in contact with each other. currently my "passenger airbag off" light is staying on unless someone is sitting in the seat. I'm assuming it's not the whoe module but just the janky connection they attempted to make. Considering ordering a new harness which I THINK is part 997.612.688.01 but before I do that I want to see if making the better connection does in fact fix it. so I need the pin-out connections to verify correct pins. so if anyone has the pin-outs/wiring for this module 997.618.537.07 i'd appreciate it. ============================= if nobody is sitting in the seat the light should be off. if someone weighing more than 60lbs in seat- light off someone or something in seat <60lbs light ON confirmed with dealership this morning mine is ON unless someone >60lbs in seat then it's off
