  1. The G2 Paint System got excellent 4 star plus reviews on Amazon. Amazingly it does not require a primer.
  2. Thanks for that Coker. So is the G2 Paint more heat resistant than catalyzed urethane paint (standard car finish) ?
  3. Yeah JFP....I think there is some confusion between Torqx and Triple Square....I think they are the same. I need an E10 torqx female socket....that's all.
  4. Optimus - IMHO that's a bit of "over kill"....and reminds me of all of the "over engineering" I've experienced with this car. Catalyzed urethane paint is a very tough coating only to fail if the rotors get red hot...as in a racing mode. A rare triple square female socket is required to remove the calipers from my 2014 boxster....10 mm I believe. Very hard to find this item. The big trick with refinishing the calipers is getting the "PORSCHE" lettering back on. Special stencils have been created for this purpose.
  5. Thanks, but I've been told NOT to undo the brake lines, but only release the caliper bolts. In other words, paint the calipers with the brake line attached. Is this wrong ?
  6. To remove the calipers for painting, is a special tool required ?
  7. Well that just says it all with regards to the 718 model vs the 981: 1) Not faster 2) Not lighter 3) No PDK TCU/Console improvements ! Porsche/Frankfurt is truly resting on it's laurels with this model/body-style !! Ah...all emphasis is probably now on the all-EV versions....of each model.
  8. Thanks Guys....and no Croc...PIWIS does not provide the Pentosin level. It truly is pretty bad....a "faux-paus" by Porsche for sure. Now I have been asking around if this deficiency was corrected in the 718 models.
  9. Thanks Guys.....wow, great "lock-in" by Porsche for their dealers. My local dealer is not so hot....they're good at inspecting and diagnosing cars, criticizing 3rd party add-ons, and selling new Porsches. Now fixing a broken Porsche ? .... not so much.
  10. Thanks for that Loren, but..... My goodness....that is rather expensive, no ? Now I see why my shop doesn't have one !! Also, I take it that PIWIS II is the latest and greatest unit ?
  11. I saw this post: PIWIS POST I would like my local Indy shop to get one of these. They work on german cars exclusively. How does one go about getting one of these testing units and what does it cost ?
  12. Thanks JFP, but exactly how is the pentosin level "eye-balled" ? Is there a glass level indicator on the PDK or what ?
  13. Thanks much JFP for your expertise...and I thought as much. However, going back to the PIWIS function during refill of Pentosin.....I take it the ignition key must be turned on during the fill operation.... so PIWIS can measure the Pentosin level. Is that right ? Wouldn't the clutch oil cooling system be off when the car is started after a 24 hour stay in the garage ?
  14. But I see the one for the differential side.....I take it the clutch side in opposite of it...i.e. on the other side of the PDK ?

I saw this article : https://rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/981725-pdk-clutch-oil-service.html re: "the oil fill hole is quite difficult to get to and the pump he used had a 90 degree elbow fitting on the end of it to get to the hole." Where exactly is the fill hole on my 981 PDK ? Other than monitoring the fluid level, what else does the PIWIS do ?
